That, even for me, who wasn't a fan of his signing, feels harsh.

Although I was certainly surprised when many had him in their predicted XI's for Arsenal when he was never playing big games for Chelsea. He's a good squad player.
Honestly didnt mean it harshly. That pathetic shot at the end just sums him up for me, cant really play a through ball either, he's a player that justs keeps things ticking.

Purchasing him at the price we paid was a no-brainer. However, he is hardly ripping up trees.
The strange thing is that he looked significantly more comfortable and better in the opening weeks, when he was outstanding, yet since he missed those two games (West Ham and Forest) he doesn't seem to have reached the same level. It could be that he's still working his way back up to full fitness. Looked fagged at the whistle.

When we play with Doku on the left, there is a great deal more ground for him to cover, and he doesn't look quite as comfortable in the half spaces as he does when Grealish is out there. Pity he never finished it at the death, but he is too good a player not to come good again.

Another anonymous game. How many times did he pass but they were a couple of yards behind ir wide of where they should have been. Not impressive and wont be starting many based in games like this

Four. None conceded possession, they just slowed progression.

He is depth for us, and hopefully helpung Gvardiol adjust.

Thats good enough right now, he isnt a starter.

What does that even mean? As in if we played the Champions League Final tomorrow, no matter the opposition or threat?
It means that he was decent. Not good. Not bad...

As for the UCL final question, do you really think Kovacic is in our best XI?

This is a terrible summary. If he's doing his job right, he's going to be largely anonymous, he's not in there to be flashy he's knitting our play together and he did it well if not brilliantly today. Two solid performances from him now after the arsenal disaster.

Would have been the ideal 8 if he could just score. He plays so well alongside Rodri, complements him perfectly.

He got better as the game went on and played well in the end, but I still think he’s a bit uncomfortable in terms of making forward runs and ultimately he’s a different player than Gundogan.

A bit slow in the first half but looked better and more assertive when Rodri went off.
