8 second rule

Have they forgotten that they already have this covered by their existing Laws of the Game?

The 6 second rule is never enforced, when was the last time an indirect free kick was awarded?
They've trialled this and the trials went well. As long as it's enforced and stuck to, I think it's good. Pickford/raya lie on the floor for 20seconds and another 20 seconds after they stand up.
It's in effect in the prem from next season.
Once a few corners are conceded, keepers will learn, it will speed the game up, which suits us. But it needs sticking to and not lapsing.

It will get enforced for about three weeks then quietly slip away.

Who ever is in goal for City, will be the first keeper to be penalised: Like Sterling at Stoke for holding at a corner. As you say, will slip away and be quietly forgot about. Until, that is, we play the red cartel + 1 and in Europe.

Like defenders holding in the box at corners?

First time, corner and a warning, 2nd time, corner and a yellow card. Presume it's then another warning then 2nd yellow and off.
3rd time should be a penalty, no card needed.
4th time, just give a goal against them. It’ll stop in a week….

It's just the consistency, it's got to be kept up. Look at corners now, the amount of penalties given a couple of seasons ago was mental, now it the grappling and holding is worse than it was before unless you play in red

So, with this new rule, the ref holds his arm in the air at the 5 seconds to go point and what?
He holds five fingers outstretched on the raised arm and brings one down as each second passes?
A clock appears and counts down the 5 seconds for all to see?
What?

Because the first option is fucking amateur hour and the second one, well some clubs don't even have a screen, and are people honestly confident that a group of individuals who can't even manage to construct a working language protocol for their discussions (after how many years of using the thing?) can manage to get a clock to appear within 1 second of a ref holding his arm in the air?

It'll be a fucking shambles and fucked off before Christmas.

Nice idea but these pseudo-professional fuck-heads won't be able to pull it off successfully.
