On form he is our best academy graduate and also our best midfield academy graduate. Whatever is ailing Phil and Cole, they need to shake it off and reassert themselves.
The barnet is as top quality as the player. With or without the hair?
He handled Hojbjerg like a champ. Gave him shit, showed no fear and wound him up. For me, Hojbjerg should have been sent off for the stamp, he shortened his stride to land on him. Kids got balls of steel and is a real gem. He's also given us fans a new academy lad to back and gets us more up for the fight. Pep knows what he's doing!
The Tottenham players tried to do a job on him last night. Numerous fouls from different players culminated with the stamp. They tried to bully him but as said above, he doesn’t seem the sort to be bullied.
He was physically bullied last night but stood up to it. He seems to be able to keep control of the ball even after a strong challenge and has an ability to bounce up quickly if he goes to ground. The thing is in England we have this fixation on physicality within players. Of course it’s nice to have, but other countries but more emphasis on quality, and that’ll overcome everything if you’re good enough.
An on-form Foden is better as he offers more in the attacking end of the pitch. He is currently in a slump but he has put in some amazing performances since breaking through. They are very different players and Rico deserves enormous credit for taking to first team football so well.On form he is our best academy graduate and also our best midfield academy graduate. Whatever is ailing Phil and Cole, they need to shake it off and reassert themselves.
I wonder if Rico's development is why we let Lavia go? because he's playing next to Rodri in midfield and his game seems suited to that role.I just wish Lavia could have been given a chance too as he is shaping really well out Southampton.
if that was the case then we wouldn't have spunked 42m on Phillips.I wonder if Rico's development is why we let Lavia go? because he's playing next to Rodri in midfield and his game seems suited to that role.
I luv this kid, he's been great and a total surprise this season.
Yeah but they obviously saw Rico's potential so could afford to sell Lavia.if that was the case then we wouldn't have spunked 42m on Phillips.
I can almost guarantee that they didn't sell Lavia because of Rico Lewis waiting in the wings.Yeah but they obviously saw Rico's potential so could afford to sell Lavia.
I doubt anyone really saw him playing this big of a role but boy hasn't he taken his chance!
This is Roy of the Rovers stuff (ask yer Dad!)
Keep it up lad!
