I've said this since the first time I saw him play, but his body shape is always spot on. Reminds me of La Masia graduates in many ways, which I suppose as a product of our academy all the way through its to be expected - 11 when Pep joined.

Also showed some tenacity last night - first half he was bumped off it, chased the player back, won the ball and then used it very intelligently again

First time I watched him play I was confusing him with Bernardo Silva for this very reason. The guys got incredible ball control and game sense but for me the biggest attribute he's showing is self belief and elite mentality to be a vital part of this squad at 18

Think he’s proving once and for all that he is not a full back. He’s absolutely unreal in midfield, bossing Champions League away games at just 18.

He’s the new JB and will be 18 forever.

Once this kid fills out a bit and can stop opposition players bullying him, he's gonna be immense. He already understands positioning, tempo and what Pep demands.

Very impressive last night,easy to forget his age......he has a brilliant winners mentality,his athleticism is wonderful,and he will only get stronger and technically better.

Saying all that,still plenty to learn.....but he has the potential to be an elite midfield general.

Rico must feel 10ft tall today. This entire press conference is quote after quote about Rico that should get us so, so excited for his future. Very rarely does Pep speak like this about someone so young.

His worst performances have been when he's been used as a replacement for Rodri, which he doesn't have the strength, physicality or game intelligence (yet) to do. But when he's playing alongside Rodri, he really shines. Even when playing right back, his best performances last season were coming inside next to Rodri to make a two.

He just needs to be stronger in protecting the ball, but credit to him - he always shows for it and if he does lose it he fights hard to win it back. He'll get stronger in time, and that's the main issue at the moment - the rest of his play is spot on.

He reminds me of Kimmich a little bit. Can play multiple positions and great at controlling the tempo
