Weirdly, I like him better than Bernardo im that RCM position for only the fact that him being right footed means he can make underlapping runs and cross the ball like Kev does.

In both friendlies, you can see how akward it is for Bernardo to make that run as he cant cross on his right foot.

Id prefer Bernie perhaps LCM next to Grealish to cross or RW.

In that sense a good midfield duo is:

Bernie lcm, Kev rcm OR

Phil lcm, Lewis rcm

Each combo has a more defensive midfielder with a more attacking one, with the proper footed player on each side.

It wont come as a surprise to most, but its being reported this morning we have turned down several approaches for his services(loan and sale) from both Championship and Prem clubs.

Rico was weak while defending today.
He is not a defender. For their 2nd goal today, we saw something similar against Yokohama. Instead of kicking the ball into row Z, he hesitated, lost the 1 on 1, and kicked it past Ortega to their striker. Excellent in midfield, though.

Never a right back
Great footballer though and will be amazing for years to come

The audacity of a Championship club trying to loan Lewis

I mean if the plan was for him to be a RB then a year in the Championship wouldn’t be a bad idea…

Luckily the club aren’t that daft to think he has a future as a full back.

CM together with Rodri role suit him better currently. Still very bright future ahead. Just keep going Rico!

It was a friendly warm up game. It’s harsh to judge his defensive skills based on that.

In the league he’s been excellent defensively

Sell with buy back clause or loan

Wouldn't pick him ahead of Walker, Cancelo or Akanji as RB

Is this a joke. Why on earth would we sell/ loan out one of our best young players, who’s been excellent when called upon

I think he only started when there was unrest between Pep & Kyle & Cancelo when he benched both of them and picked Rico ahead of them.

The team managed to win & Rico was great but thank God Walker was ready to reclaim his place in the most important period against ( Bayern, Madrid & United )
