I am gonna go out on a limb here and ask something that might really open me up to criticism but here goes:

Is Rico's job to get his body between the ball and the opponent and then get fouled everytime to get us free kicks?

That used to be what Grealish was for or so I thought..

Because other than that I am not seeing what exactly he's bringing to the side lately..

Of course Pep knows more. He's forgotten more than us lot know combined.

Still doesn't mean he can't have faults or be wrong sometimes. The fella put RODRI AND FERNANDINHO on the bench for a champions league final, leaving us light in midfield and we lost.

No manager in history of the game has got everything right, they all make weird decisions, but the great once get most of it right and Pep is one of the greats but he still fucked up in that final, we could all see it.

Needs to be played further forward. Really think he's got potential as a Bernardo/Gundo-type replacement. Just someone who fits in little pockets behind the attack and keeps the ball moving. A metronome sort.

He is the worst player to get regularly game time for us in 20+ years of supporting the club. Genuinely Wouldn’t start at Southampton imo. I feel for him tbh because he tries hard but so would I if I was out there. The way Neves (same age as Rico) was bullying him every time he stepped into midfield, was embarrassing for our club, not just him.

I have said it before, I bet he is absolutely mustard at 5-aside.
I played at a high level in junior football and I can recall many players who stood out on small pitches as being simply outstanding.
Put them against men on full size pitch , different outcome completely.

I wouldn't say he's the worst player but he's incredibly limited, he tried hard but he's bang average and would NOT get into any other top ten side, he really is our Tom Cleverley or Phil Jones minus the gurning.
