82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

I've yet to see a game where I think this lad will be good enough for us.

He is positionally unaware when played in defence. Can't do the basics like track runners, or read the play.

When played in Midfield he gets eased off the ball too far too easily. He can't play a killer pass and he can't tackle.

Yesterday he was schooled by Son & Maddison.

Painful to watch, but the harsh reality is he is no where near good enough for us.

He is getting a bit of a free pass this season as most other players have been collectively poor!!

He has only been at City 12 years, give the young lad time to bed in :)

would be genuinely curious to see his win loss ratio compared to other players. Feel like he's been at the scene of the crime in most of our humblings in the last couple of years. Started in midfield in that Villa game last year too.

I think Pep now overcompensating on the fatal Palmer error. Lewis plays too much compared to his form. Palmer would have not get as many starts here with this many poor outings.

To be fair, he’s playing too much partly because the team has been threadbare.

That said, the difference in treatment between him and Palmer (and McAtee) is noticeable. Palmer possesses several times Rico’s talent and could have been a key figure in our rebuild, whereas Rico just looks like squad material without any defined role of his own.
