Is saying he's not an elite level player but would be good elsewhere, shitting on him?
Yes.
I'll trust Pep on this one.

But yet Pep continues to push him forward to absolutely zero effect and knowing that he'll never be able to get back..I don't think he has ANY pace at all mate.
Good luck with that...I won't...Yes.

If Pep thinks Lewis is an elite player and anything remotely like anything that's gone before, then forgive me, I won't on this one.Yes.

Go back and watch the last 45.With Lewis's age and abilities normally he would be playing a bit part, however the situation calls for him to start every game(out of position), and I would say for the most part been excellent, won't do his development any harm to feel like I'm sure he does at the moment, looks tired and needs to be pulled back a bit, don't understand some of the stick the he gets
One of, if not the main argument in favour of Rico, is that he has a high football IQ. You argue that he is the only one in the midfield with legs and never stops running. If you are correct in your assessment, the football IQ argument is on its arse, because no midfielder with both energy/running ability and a high footballing IQ, should be seen running towards their own goal, 15 yards behind play, multiple times per game.Lewis is the only player with legs in the current midfield. He never stops running all game. Gundogan, Foden and Bernado are worse.
People blaming Lewis are not looking at the bigger picture. Others just blame Lewis because Mcateer is not playing.
