82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

Playing through necessity rather than ability. As soon as Pep gets the chance, I’m assuming he’ll be out the team and out the limelight.

He’s been overplayed, if that’s a thing, I get that but he’s just poor. Doesn’t offer anything defensively, offers nothing offensively - picks up good positions but then does nothing but a 5 yard pass when he gets it. And it’s always sideways!

Not playing well, but who the fuck else is going to play? By my count we have 3 defenders fit and available to play in the back 4 on sundau

Walker a much bigger concern for me. Sat and watched juve get the ball back for their goal after Rico made a decent block

Playing Lewis inverted means we have only 3 back and absolutely no recovery from midfield. Teams make 2 passes and theyre at our back 3. Its a fucked system with Lewis and Gundogan.

Pep needs to work on pragmatism for right now.

Utterly pointless. When he plays full back, he can’t defend. When he plays midfield, he is too negative. When he moves from full back into midfield, he is caught in no-man’s land and ends up doing neither effectively.

As we have seen, he is serviceable in a winning machine. That’s all. He is our Wes Brown or Rafael. Just an average footballer, who won the lottery.

I said weeks ago that he would be a decent barometer of where the team is at. It’s almost a nailed on guarantee, that if he is playing a lot of games, the team is struggling and that’s being borne out. He is not a top player. He will never be a top player. He wouldn’t have made it at City 20 years ago when we were absolute shite.

As it has been said we can't move him out of the side until we can get Stones, Akanji and Ake are fit.
