Never associate Lewis with long diagonal passes and that hasn’t changed after yesterday. Reminded me of the Youth Cup Final earlier in the week. All well intentioned but not well executed.

The bottom line is he’s not good enough to play for us (unless we’re now happy with 4th or 5th). Same goes for doku savinho grealish KDB Bernardo gundo stones ake akanji nunes Khuzanov and reis. The reason they’re in our squad is the reason we’re 18 points behind this seasons champions. We need some serious faces in not unheard ofs or cheapo buys. FACTS.

He’s got the energy, the industry and the passion for the club, and the good intentions …

I was pleasantly surprised by some of what I saw at Wembley, I’ll say that much. Wonder if he’ll get that midfield berth again for the Final?

He’s only played 136 minutes of football for us!

No idea. Oddly enough, Guardiola has picked Lewis in all 4 games against Palace in the last two seasons, so he clearly sees him as having something needed against them. He’s had good performances but was also sent off, too.

He’s a promising young player that we’ve invested in because we recognise his potential. Following your line of logic, Echeverri should be sent packing, too, no?
I’m not against buying potential so long as there’s another strand where we buy proven also. If the potential doesn’t materialise then we wouldn’t be up shit creek.

We’re in the FA Cup final, fourth in the League- three points off second, and have some brilliant talent. It’s not been plain sailing this year, true, but we’re not up the proverbial creek and we have paddles a plenty.

I think he’s decent for lower PL team downwards. For a top 4 team, occasional squad player to bring on, at the very best.
I’m really not sure at all.

No pace , little craft , lacking creativity, goes missing too often, physically weak, over confident, rarely scores , not enough bite or tenacity.

I really could go on.

I know, I know mate. I’ve listed his weaknesses more than once on here myself, so I’m not gonna go over it again. It just prompts the same defensive replies and round and round we go …

What worries me more than the fact that Lewis is never a PL standard player is the fact that the greatest manager in the history of the game watches our squad train day in, day out, and identifies him as one of our first choice players. What is that telling us about the others ?

Don’t know but if you want a fullback to play high up the pitch like a right winger as Lewis did on Saturday. It is an absolute no brainer to play Nunes ahead of him

Nothing. What it really say is that roo many here know fuck all about football...

But sadly, most wont consider that possibility.

Time will tell. I seldom comment adversely on players, usually deferring to the judgement of the professionals, but here's my amateur asssessment on Kalvin Phillips a month before we signed him for £49m.

I rate Rico Lewis as an absolutely top prospect. I find some of the negative views here really strange, and misplaced. I hope he goes on to have a great career because he is a talented young player, a blue, and he's been with us for most of his life. All those things matter to me because I identify with the club.

I know fuck all about cooking, but I know when the chicken tastes right. The lad from what I have seen over the last three years needs to up all aspects of his game.
