82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

The problem with Rico Lewis is that he's a young player with potential to develop his build-up play in midfield, but he lacks the skill or physical attributes to play as a right-back or any other defensive position. I don't know why Pep insists on playing him in the wrong position.

I've changed my mind about Rico and now think he'll be successful here. Maybe just wishful thinking, but I trust the club. He's only 20 and will get better. And he is a good lad, which is important.

Agree with everything you said except trusting the club part :)

I get the emotional attachment, and there's a wariness about selling our top prospects now post palmer, but He's about 7th in line for midfield and he's lost the RB spot to a midfielder and a centre back. Should have been sold not renewed for me.

We'll be back in the same place with him next summer that we were this.

Only we may not get the same asking price. Not sure this guy will ever cement a first team place maybe a squad player. I think he might be more suited to Spanish or Italian football which is where he might end up.

Wouldn't mind seeing him in midfield today, he thrives in Europe sometimes there, even if Napoli are a tough opponent. But it's not like we should play Bernardo all the time.

Solid squad player who would be a top 2 or 3 in many teams, which makes me think he’ll be transfer bait next summer.

Ever since he signed that new contract he barely starts a game now
Yeah because we have better players. He is what he is, can slot into multiple positions, cheap and homegrown. Will start cup games till the end of his career and will get the odd minutes depending on other players availability
