I sincerely hope that every single person that have doubted Haaland, could see today how he's all over the pitch. Attacking, defending, tackling, winning headers, making dozens of runs without ever getting the pass. He's putting in all the effort anyone could ever ask for, but just because he gets so few touches, some people are actually blaming Haaland for a little dry spell. Unbelievable really.

Any way, that's the incredibly long drought finally ended - let's hope he'll just keep on scoring now.
Yes and what I liked was the passion he showed in the second half as well as encouraging the other players

He's got 4 in 5 since the restart.

say he plays 15 more league games, at this rate he matches the 42 game record.

I expect him to pick up again tbh.
I always think the worst and expect goal droughts from my favourite strikers. However, I’m expecting another hat trick by the end of March and 30 league goals by about then. I’ve never felt as confident as having him in, if our team hit their gears and feed him.

Let me put it out there would any swap him for any other striker in world football my opinion is I wouldn’t love

pep says that during half time he told Haaland not to keep dropping deep but to play on the shoulder. that is something for the Haaland not good at pep ball crowd to consider. pep say city bought Haaland for his runs at the defense and not for his build up play.

Which is great if when making those runs, our other players see his runs and pass into that space.
Incredibly frustrating for strikers if his runs are being ignored, they will inevitably end up coming deep to receive the ball

We seem to be trying harder to get the ball to Haaland more often under Pep's instructions. This is somewhat of a departure from our style of play in recent years - where safer passes are preferred.

An interesting analysis of Haaland and how he fits into our side was posted by Tifo IRL recently. An excellent watch.

The most a City player has scored under Pep in the PL is 21 (Aguero). Haaland has 22 goals in just half a season.
Which is incredible.

However, we have scored the exact same number of goals in the Prem (50) as we did after 19 games last season but have 5 fewer points with 2 fewer wins.

It’s not always about the goalscorer. It’s about winning.

Hopefully we can find that winning formula with Haaland scoring to boot (like early in the season and the second half the other night). But winning is more important than how many goals he scores.

Imagine if Rashfordinho or Nunezinho had scored 28 goals by this stage of the season , would the question , are they a better team without them ? . Not in a million years it would be rightly ridiculed , but it is actually seriously being debated that Haaland has been a questionable signing , it beggars belief but only confirms the jealousy and hate for our club.

Rio actually believes the player of the year should go to Odegaard and not some kid who's tearing up the pl in his first season in the league.

Even with Haaland’s incredible goal tally he’s not been as good as Rodri and Stones for City this season.

An irrelevant sidenote - he seems to be making a point of making a trademark of his celebration (finger swirl). He commented on City’s instagram post of his goal with it and there’s videos/pictures of Stones mid and post game copying it.

Probably see it pushed marketing wise at some point by him/the club

I don't get people clamouring for him to join the build up play. His ball control and passing in tight areas are his weakest attributes. Why highlight that and not everything else which he is way better at.
