Naturally and understandably his goalscoring has dried up a bit, his early season form wasn't sustainable

Worrying that he's missing some sitters recently.....worrying because he's here to win us the champions league and we can't be missing those types of chances in the big games

Thankfully, he's got time to get back up to form

Do think he lacks technically for the upper echelon, so if the goalscoring stops we will have to carry him

The superb Grealish run, where he should have scored, was very much a situation created by Haalands movement and taking two defenders away from the ball.

They are petrified of his presence,we need to exploit that as much as possible.
This all day long.

If this is Erling slightly off form I'll take it, works his socks off - no doubt that he will have a run of scoring for fun just at the critical time of the season. Noticeable too that his link up play with Jack, Julien and Phil is getting better and better. Kev coming back into form by April will also have a positive impact on his scoring. He will end up with about 37 league goals this year which is phenomenal. No wonder the media are trying to spin about him leaving - that tells me a lot.

Finishing has been off recently, not even forcing saves, just straight up missing the target.

Movement for crosses has been non existent too, not challenging for headers just waiting in hope the cross reaches him in space.

Love the lad but he needs to up his game. 7 in 14 in 2023. Goalless in 9 of those games.
Went goalless in just 4 of first 20 games(2022).
He might be the most excuse made for striker I've ever seen in the prem too, according to pundits ect, EVERYTHING is teammates fault.

I'm not questioning his quality, just his performances have been well short of what they could/should be. Needs to always be aggressive as he was vs Arsenal, needs to mix up his movement, allergic to going wide(almost got a goal from it yesterday, do it more) offer for the ball and bring wide men into play.
Ask yourself if you've ever analysed a striker's game this much. If Aguero had scored 7 in 14 we wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

Don’t know why people are saying he should have buried that chance in the first half, it sat up and hit him above the ankle. He’d have to have looked milliseconds into the future to see that it was going to bounce up to know to hit that properly.

He was okay first half but was barely involved in the second half (at one point I forgot he was on the pitch) apart from a poor header over and then having the responsibility to take and score the penalty. But he took that responsibility and with no doubt slid the ball home for the win.

Got the winner again. I think because of his start to life a city people expected that to continue throughout the whole season. Its also his first season so there was always going to be a bit of teething problems. I think hes learning and becoming more involved in the build up play.

I definitely think playing with inverted wingers is limiting the amount of chances we can create for him. Imagine how many goals Haaland would've scored in our 2017/18 team with Sane getting to the byline and cutting it back for him to come on to it with his left foot. He's so good at losing defenders in the box that I feel this would be a big source of goals for him. He scored one like it in the derby which was assisted by Gomez so maybe an overlapping left-back with good crossing ability is what we need.

At the moment our wingers just cut inside and put a lofted cross in to the box which is harder to score from given that one of the weakest areas of Haaland's game is his ariel ability. Grealish does it quite a lot because he's not great at crossing with his left foot. Obviously with 34 goals it's hard to make an argument that we're not creating enough chances for him but it feels like we're missing a trick by not playing Foden on the left.

Weird one this as he's fell off a cliff threat wise since early season. Defenders keep tight on him and he doesn't outmuscle them. He cannot jump ,doesn't challenge for the ball and sort of hangs around waiting for the ball in a limited space behind the defenders. Needs to figure it out -love him though.
I think his game is more based off of his quickness though.
He is sharp in the box and so quick off the mark and the chances he missed yesterday, plus when he put in a cross in after Grealish put him in, were because of that.

He is still learning though and will only get better, but we do need to find a way of using his pace more and try to give him more through balls to run on to.

Four more goals off the 38 game record, six more off the 42 game record.

11 games to go.
One thing he's not had lately is a game against a pretty poor defence where he can notch 2/3 to boost his average. The last time he scored more than once in a PL game was 22nd January against Wolves, in that 3-0 win. Hoping that Liverpool come with an open style and that'll be the game where he gets a double just to nudge him closer to that record. We've also got home games to come against West Ham, Leeds, and Leicester who have all shipped loads of goals this season. He'll get the 38 game record but unsure about the 42 game record.
