I think an investigation in to Liverpool’s operations should be opened as it looks as if Haaland was hacked right before his penalty.

It was a DoS attack!

Imagine if he delivers the CL in his first season!
Won’t be enough. Needs to win it 4 times in a row!

What a player, shit spot kick but he was messed about with how long it took. Funnily enough, don’t think pens are his strongest attribute. Pressure kicks are hard going and something he will have to deal with.

What will they write about if he actually delivers it? Amazing player.

I missed watching the game live, but just saw a replay of his goal.

The hangdog look of abject failure on the part of the German rag hierarchy when our magnificent Viking scored was priceless.

I've always despised the arrogant German rags, and the way they have condescendingly treated us.

So take it, take it and start treating us with respect. We are the big boys now, not you!

The renowned Geir Jordet - probably best known for his research on penalty kicks in football - writes to VG that Goretzka's behavior in his eyes contributed to Haaland missing the way he did.

- There were a lot of disturbances at the front, he says.

It is in addition to the enormous pressure in a CL quarter-final among the six reasons Jordet mentions:

There is very high pressure, he knows that he can decide the game if he scores, and Haaland has not been in exactly this situation before in a CL quarter-final.

There were a lot of disturbances up front, with Bayern players trying several times, and Haaland's teammates helping to clear them away, but this is also something I have not seen Haaland experience before, which may have played a role.

There were disturbances right up until the end, with Goretzka coming forward just before the kick, which means that Haaland has to place the ball again.

Sommer also does something almost when Haaland is in the run-up, which causes the referee to blow the whistle to put Sommer in place, at the same time as Haaland steps forward.

Haaland tries a kick high in the middle, something he very rarely does, which perhaps makes him a little extra nervous.

The stand-up foot slides very close to the ball as he sets it down, and may almost have run into the ball - and then the hit is not as good.

Brought in for moments like that.

I know the rumours pre-City were that he wants to move around Europe but I don't see him leaving us. If he stays he'll break every City, Premier League, English and Champions League scoring record. Along with winning everything.

He can still spend 6 years here and move around, he's 22

Plus there isn't that many places to go for serious football. He's played in Germany and England. There's only really Spain and Italy left in terms of appeal. The French league is dogshit apart from one team and a handful of players in that team. I'm sure he's got no desire to be playing in Belgium or Sweden...

So he can still move around and doesn't need to be In a rush to do so.
