cant believe we bought this lad , he was younger when we bought him and will be a year older when he actually plays and still hasn't scored a goal, ah well , you win some you lose some

In fact the important thing is that Pep Guardiola speaks spanish.

First because Álvarez is the typical argentinan who will never speak english even living in England for 8 years.

And 2d because Álvarez is some old school player who shoots from afar and he has not learned City system.

He is a guy who will need a lot of instruccions and thats not posible without spanish.

Also all those argentinan boys from poors neighborhoods are guys very closed. It's very difficult for them adapt other culture and they are guys deeply rooted to his own world.

They stay in their own circle. They want argentinan women, argentinan restaurants, argentinan music, argentinan humor and argentinan life, even playing in París, Manchester or Munich.

If you are spanish they just see you a little less "alien", but just a little less.

Beg to differ with everything you’ve said mate

Firstly, Peo insists his players speak English

Secondly, typical Argentinian like Zabba who can’t speak a word of English & stays in his own circles? Get a grip lad

Thirdly he’s from an Argentinian family which is considered reasonably well off, not a family from the ‘shanty’ towns & is a pretty smart kid by all accounts
