There’s basically 2 different opinions on this, one that were better off with 5 forward players trying to get it to the 6th while he’s in front of goal, two we’d be better off with all 6 interchanging and not caring which one puts it in the net from wherever
I’m of the second opinion and believe Alvarez as more of a false 9 but being much more of a link up option and contributing much more in general play would be best especially against the amount of parked busses we come up against
In general play to me Haaland looks like a donkey

Very well put.

We have just come of the treble with Haaland smashing the goal records and potentially some of the same City fans who where up in arms about him not winning the ballon d’or are now saying we are better of without him playing.

Absolutely crazy, even if he justified second not first, how do you not play the second best player in the world.

However, part of me that watches every City game, either at the ground or on TV. Doesn’t really feel he has played that well this season and the back end of last season (after his brief injury break).

It’s coming up to the part where the early season form (when he looked like he was going to score 2 or 3 each game) will be the smaller part of his time here.

So I can see why such a ridiculous notion is being debated. Although I will still say it’s ridiculous and that City are of course a better team with either the first or second best player in the world playing for them.

Hopefully, in a few weeks time everyone will see that and it will seen as one of the numerous silly, over analysing, bluemoon comments such as Plodri, Gundogan, Mahrez and many others!

He should of buried the header in the 2nd half but the others were chances, that all strikers miss.
I think Carragher was revelling in them more because of his embarrassment of Darling Nunez's missed sitters the other week.
He so wants Haaland to get bad press rather than any of his beloved dippers.

We'll probably get the other cnut Neville today going on about it and saying how Hojlund would of buried those chances.
It's all just to beat city with another stick.
Haaland will still be golden boot winner this season and hopefully have more silverware to go with it.

Good reply
That again though is another debate people have, for many he’s a worthy ballon dor winner and other don’t see him as a great footballer at all just a huge goal threat in the box and it’s just what you like and consider being great at football

For me as an actual footballer he’s in the bottom 5% in our squad but as a goal scorer he clearly the best we’ve got

I also realise that forgetting football he will probably benefit our club in terms of his brand and building us as a world brand ourselves, he’s a superstar
I took the dog for a walk yesterday and there was 4 different groups of young kids having a kick about and 3 different kids with City Haaland shirts on
I believe this is a huge part of him being undropable, he does not seem to have the same demands as far as all round contribution that Pep held against and dropped Aguero for, Aguero was told do more or you’re out, this doesn’t seem to apply to Haaland

Genuinely some of the worst takes on a player I’ve read here since yesterday and every fucking one from posters who are negative about everything.
Cunts don’t deserve this team.

It basically stems from the fact that Erling hasn't got the skills that Sergio had. Apart from yesterday he is the re-incarnation of Nat Lofthouse and every other type of old 'English' CF. His touch is intermittent and he will never have the whisper control that we got with Riyad and that we have with Phil and Bernardo, but matches are won with goals and he can score 'em by the dozen. Starts again Tuesday.

Haaland for me is a very good player but he is the sort of player that requires everything given to him on a plate. He can't dribble, he can't create chances on his own, he can't head, he can't do anything other than being very good at being in the box in the right time at the right place and finishing chances created by other top City players.

Haaland is the perfect match for this Pep side but he isn't worthy of being compared to the likes of Suarez, Rooney, Henry, RVP, Kane, etc. Those players all had the X factor.
