The rebuild is going to be focused on being built around him. It will be about getting the ball to him as fast as possible from defence to attack - removing the low block & current style of our slow build up that allows the opposition to flood their area with players.

This will be our new style. Still being able to retain possession and press when needed though.
Good luck with doing that when 90% of teams will sit in and counter us every week. Unless we can find the new Silva or KDB to open teams up it’s quite difficult to change too much. He’s barely involved in plenty of games(we know that’s how it is) but he’s still getting chances. Should have bagged 3 against Spurs. Ok, Saturday was limited but they’re a very well organised side and he still had a couple.

While I'm for sure on the side that we don't feed him enough when he makes certain runs, especially over the top, I would like to see an improvement in his movement in the box over the next few months.

I guess we were spoiled with sergio because his movement was elite, but I do feel that haaland almost feeds into the way defenders play him because he does lack a bit of variety in his movement in the box and imo makes the same movement too many times.

The club scored more goals without Haaland.

in 2018-2019, the team scored 169 goals in all competitions

With Haaland, the highest was 151 goals in the treble season.

Pep has to find a way to get utilities Haaland better.

The obvious one, is to reuse his Centurion season format

Overlapping fullbacks, with wigners playing in their natural position

Left footed wingers on the left and right footed wingers in the right.

Erling Haaland is now the First EVER player to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements in less than 100 games. He has 84 goals & 16 assists in 94 games.

Fewest games needed to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements:
◉ 94 - Erling Haaland
◎ 100 - Alan Shearer
◎ 116 - Mohamed Salah
◎ 116 - Eric Cantona

He is the invisible man Talk about doku and savio all you want, for sure their end product is poor. He is literally impossible to find. Prime messi couldn't pick him up, i'm sure of it. There is just so much you can do when a striker makes zero effort.

I think we'd be a better team with Marmoush up top. Hes's a better footballer, brings others into the game and he's not exactly a slouch in the goalscoring department.

That's not to say Erling isn't fabulous, but I've always felt he was a poor fit for us.

I think he still needs to do better in alot of situations.

Like always going back post no matter what.

When he is played ball to feet, he is still a bit clumsy when trying to find a teammate, or he gets dispossessed quickly.

Some other things I domt blame him so much, like runs behind, because we arent playing them for some reason.

Good on him for the 100 contributions, but I hope we see him develop more.

His movement in the box was so much better during his first season. It's such a waste to NEVER run to the first post with a winger like Doku

Because at that moment you're talking about, especially the entire period 2017-2019, he had one of the best groups of assistants ever! Sterling, Sane, KDB and Silva.
Today we don't have anything like that anywhere near.

Keep pushing it!!!

Very early to say, but I wasn’t ecastic about length of contract.

That said, we know he has something and he will score goals and now is the time to rebuild the team to play to his strengths.

You weren't happy with the best striker in the world committing to a huge contract with us?

I wasn’t sure on the contract length and the overall financial commitment.

Both in terms of other players and also the fact it makes him the most important person @ the club.

Works both ways, but we have some very average players as today showed. We need Davies and Frimpong as starting fullbacks and a two upcoming fullbacks.
This would help everyone.

Without doubt,the strangest player I’ve ever seen.Numbers that can’t be ignored,yet more often than not,demonstrates a Sunday league touch.Weird stuff…
