9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Happy clappers is a phrase created by posters who wish to introduce a negative element into a conversation and do so without providing a useful analysis or comment as far as I observe.

Very few of the now established and usual suspects come on the forum to offer praise when their usual subjects of criticism play well or really add to the team performance etc.

So not arsed if you consider me a happy clapper, but I do care about the team and players, none of whom set out to play in a manner which is " not arsed, couldn't give a fuck, usual dismissive comments.

I'll clap on, and rely on the players to try and do their best, in a professional manner, and with the correct intentions.
At no point did I say you were a happy clapper mate
My understanding of a happy clapper is someone who can see no wrong in anything city do ,and ,can see no wrong in any players ,
To me providing you praise when something good happens you are entitled to moan when something negative happens for balance .

Yes he did ,tbf he made a lot of goals for himself ,when Pep first came he was for getting rid of aguero ,but after the restaurant meeting he stayed and altered his game to work harder and get more involved
Haaland is still young he's years of learning to come. My prick comment was harsh, my apologies but calling the man Bob Taylor is very disrespectful lol.

that comment for Arteta of staying humble. will be honest we need to visit Arsenal at the Emirates and chances are Gabriel and Saliba will be making fun of him. could see Gabriel laughing in his face too if we lose. unfortuntely thats how it is, you give it out, you have to able to take it too.

end of the day he need to work harder, press and run more, trouble defenders with his off the ball movement. also service needs to be regular towards him, and for some reason Grealish, Bernardo, Foden are all allergic to set up chances for Haaland. they really are.

I respect him hugely for trying to take accountability for his poor form but I simply disagree. The deal with Haaland is that if you put him in a team that functions well and creates loads of chances he will score you more goals than pretty much anyone else in the world could. The rest of the team just isn't living up to their end of the bargin at the moment. Not nearly enough chances.

As for workrate, I suspect it is related to Pep's instructions, because all of a sudden we have found ourselves in a position where one injury to Haaland would leave us completely strikerless. It's fucking laughable that at one point we were thinking 'Yeah McAtee could play at false nine so we're OK'.

Aguero was a better all-round footballer.

It's unbelievable, looking back, just how good Aguero was. He was an absolute machine. The best City striker I have ever seen and it's not likely that I will ever change my mind again.

That said I don't think Haaland's all-round game is anywhere near as bad as people tend to believe. I think his passing and dribbling and positional play is pretty good to be honest. For me, his poor form at the moment is much more a symptom of our dysfunctional team.

True. Haaland looks like a square peg in a round hole at City this season, and it's definitely not his fault.

I doubt he'll ever be as good a player as Aguero, but his lasting legend will be built on his amazing scoring ability. Unfortunately for us, it will most likely be cemented at Real Madrid.

Poor lad hasn’t had one single ball to run onto like Villa did for their first goal yesterday, if KDB isn’t on the pitch then we just have to play on the counter and get balls through to him. Yesterday him and Foden were asking for the ball over the top from Akanji and Stones but they just cycled it out to Grealish, every fucking time on instructions from Pep, just vary it because its predictable and shite.
