No, th

No they have not.

Walker has gone, the rest way off their best.

Bernardo has been a magnificent player in our shirt, but the last two seasons he has done little in terms of his ability, I would never question his commitment and attitude which is magnificent but his end product has been off.

Stones not the same player since the Inter MOM performance in Istanbul and KDB a physically fading force, still moments of brilliance but dwindling.
We're doomed.

I know he doesn't expect to get the ball much with Foden behind him versus KDB, but dang, he could at least attempt to make some more runs and drag guys away. Even towards the end, when we broke with Kovacic and Doku, he wasn't even attempting to get even with their last defender. Maybe I'm being harsh. Fulham did defend well.
Yes you are being harsh. Seems that everytime he doesn't score people have a go. It's ridiculous.

He's massively improved his first touch..

In the winning goal yesterday his touch was the hardest to handle and he cushioned it for Rico like a champ

Last season was Bernardo's joint 2nd highest ever goal return in a season in his career. It was also joint 2nd best ever in his career if you add in goals + assists. This season he has played 7 league games (6 games in minutes) and has 3 assists already. He has been City's 2nd highest assister (per 90) pretty much every season behind KDB.

Strictly in terms of the stats of his end product, he's doing as well as he always has done.

Caveat with the usage of stats obviously but he's not a million miles away from usual is my point.

Bernardo is my favorite player at this club by a distance but for me has looked off his peak levels for some time, the miles he has put into our cause with those little legs is catching up, for me without Rodri he has to play CM, out wide he is totally wasted.

I think you're misunderstanding the value of Jack and Bernando on the wings. Those guys almost never give the ball up! (Bar the odd backheel attempt last game from Bernando ).

This stops other teams from having those transitions against us... Which clearly we're very susceptible against due to the way Pep sets his teams up.

This season it seems that we're leaking more goals and people are point to the defense but nothing changed in that department..

The obvious miss is Rodri doesn't give the ball up when in position which means no transitions happen from his side. If we count last game Kova gave the ball up 3-4 times and 3 of those they countered us hard.

The other part is that it isn't just Kova, Gundo is doing it as well as others carelessly giving up the ball via bad simple or over complicating their passe.

I feel like this is why Pep isn't overly stressed about us leaking goals atm.. once we cut those little mistakes out we're still the same team as last year except better imo due to the fact that we can also play Savinho and Doku on the wings instead of Berna and Jack which is way more direct but the game becomes more end to end because those guys don't keep the ball as the other two.

Overall the team is starting to come back slowly which is usual for us we never start strongly. Foden will be back to his best, KDB is back after the break and Ake will be back as well this gives us a lot more options.

I feel like even though we haven't been at our best we're still unbeaten which should be scary for the rest of the league.

Oopsies lengthy reply lol my bad..

Bernardo was brilliant in 22/23, MOM vs Bayern and Real, played a big role for the Treble. At only 30, Bernie is far from finished. The likes of Ferna and Gundo had their best seasons with us after turning 30.

It's KDB who was a bit off in big games last season, which is natural given he was out for 5 months.

Let's hope he will have a better season.
