9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

The team is literally built around him. We need to unbuild the team from around him.
Don't think that right mate. We don't put enough decent crosses into the box in the right place. We never ever (anymore) spring him from deep which to me is his strength. To outpace a defence and clinically finish. Not enough box action for him - he watches as we pass the ball patiently just outside the penalty box.

Do people really expect a 6ft4 brick shithouse to be pressing like a Suarez 3 games a week all season with no rest? He's clearly shagged already as a result of our batshit insane recruitment policy. Where we spend every waking moment moaning about our players playing too many games and being tired then go into a season with 1 full back 1 dm and 1 striker.

Haaland needs competition every player needs competition to improve even if your motivated, you need someone on the bench who will take your position in the team if your not playing well or scoring.

Happened with Aguero , Jesus came in and took his spot, Aguero came back like a man possessed.

For me City should never have sold Julian Alvarez, they did, and has he been replaced..... nope. Erling Haaland is a brilliant player but he needs help up front, City really need to shoot more, just go and buy another forward in January and then you will see the difference. Also just like to say sick of hearing about people saying this and that concerning City, it's a bad spell, so what but not a crisis ffs, a crisis was when we was in the old league two going nowhere basically but as we know all the City fans stick together and pull through, even if we got relegated to the non league i couldn't give a shit, i support Manchester City through thick and thin, some of these that always seem more concerned with what's happening at City should concentrate on their own clubs, they have too much to say.

Him missing a chance isn’t a big concern, it happens. Be good if he could actually hold the ball up at times though and give us a genuine presence whilst the rest of the team is struggling so badly
He can, we just choose not to do it. The only time we ever pump it to him is out of desperation, and when we do that. The ball won't be good, odds will be heavily against him and they'll be nobody within 20 ft of him anyway.

If we actually set out to play through Haaland, He's shown he can do that extremely well, the two arsenal games a couple of years back are the only times I can recall us ever truly plan to use him in that way and he was very effective. it's not his fault we never do it.

I feel like it’s built around him…badly?

He’s obviously the focal point of the team and all the players look to him, but I don’t think our tactics are built around getting the best out of him, and there’s a weird clash there.

We should be like Kane’s spurs at this point, get the ball, get it to Haaland ASAP, put in early crosses to him all the time etc. and yet we’re pretty average for numbers of crosses given our possession and only Nunes and KdB seem capable of a decent ball into the box, when we have some of the most technically gifted players in the world.

Haaland was amazing at getting the ball early and running at defences for Dortmund and Salzburg, it’s bizarre we never see that from him at City.

I work harder than him taking the dog to the park and back. Never see him bursting a lung or getting a sweat on.
