They raise the money somehow when they need to. Happened again and again. State money, loans, sales, sponsorships, shady stuff behind the scenes... Barca are the definition of too big to fail. If they can sell to investors the idea that Haaland will bring a fortune through the Mbappe rivalry, they will come up with the cash. And don't underestimate the pull Haaland has, if he decides he wants to go there hes the kind of character that can cause a lot of trouble if you try to bully him.

As for Alvarez and Palmer, it's one thing to let them go. You can argue that one way or the other. But before doing so, Txiki and Pep should have been absolutely sure that they had someone of real quality to bring in. That's my beef. He probably isn't but if Nunes, Phillips even Grealish had had the patience and opportunitues towards them, that Lewis receives. You never know, one may have rewarded that faith.

Honestly I do wonder if Pep wanted him, he’s not a Pep style player but obviously was the best CF in the world at the time, but that was playing to his style, he had an unreal first season, something no one could’ve dreamed of, but we had prime KDB to feed him, now we don’t. Second season also very good, but Peps style has always been small mobile players, Aguero once “he got it” was a perfect fit. Now I’m not saying Alvarez is a better goal scorer but he’s a better footballer who contributed far more to the team, if we didn’t have Haaland he could’ve reached Aguero levels in time I’m sure of it. Pep has now to change to wingers to create chances as KDB is clearly in decline, so unless we can find a new KDB or please god the next David Silva, Haaland will not prosper as he once did, he will be feeding off scraps. We need to turn into a counter attacking team to get the most from him with what we have, Pep will nit do this.
Haaland will not extend his contract unless he can see big changes, I wouldn’t blame him tbh, so we’ve got one more season before we cash in, like ley go to Madrid, but good luck fitting into that system with those egos, Barca are skint so can’t see him going there.

He had a cross in the second half from Savinho, great cross, right on his head in the misfile of goal, and he headed it sideways to nobody instead of at goal.

Why’s he not getting that as a header at goal? He even changed his body position from one that he could have got a header at goal off.

No confidence. I have suspected for a while that his silly smiling, joking and poor body language almost verving on arrogance is to mask that hus confidence is completely shot

Yep I agree with that it’s a nervous laugh, he’s under tremendous pressure to score now as he’s the only one, his confidence as with that penalty is shot.

I agree that his confidence is shot too..but once he scores whether it's a fantastic finish or a mishit shot he will be back to his goalscoring best.
Lack of confidence or loss of form are just temporary..his ability and class are permanent
Hopefully big Erl gets back on the goalscoring trail on Sunday

I won’t hold my breath pal, I cant see us winning until the Salford game and then after that our fixtures are horrible us and the rags could be fighting relegation at this rate, imagine on the last day both of vying for fourth from bottom to stay up, us or them, now that would take the shine of victim fc parade.

I'm always optimistic about us winning..even when we were absolutely shite I always thought we would win somehow..mind you I was very often disappointed.
I still think we will finish in the top four...always the eternal optimist when it comes to City..
I think we are suffering badly from a mixture of too many injuries..players out of form..and lack of confidence/ self belief which is making our general play so slow as players are taking the extra touch to ensure the pass is accurate which stifles our play.
Hopefully we start winning on Sunday...
