Won a lot of his personal duels whether it was flick on's or hold up and link up play. The second starts with him. Put more effort in defensively than foden or kdb, he was covering their positions more than once off the ball. Should have scored that delicious cross from Nunes.

He should have come off instead of Foden and we could have kept possession for the last ten minutes, like we used to see out games.

I got hounded for saying this last season. He never seems happy unless the ball hit the back of the net (him or a teammate) and then he’s fine.

But the rest of the time he’s throwing his arms about or moaning.

Which I can deal with if he’s performing well. Which he did tonight. Link up play was good and it’s refreshing to see the tactic of a long ball to his feet is continuing because it’s effective and caused the first goal.

I remember a Nunes on a platter and a few others.

Worked his socks off, both on and off the ball, tonight. Should have buried his best header and his left footer was hit into the ground. Beyond that, it was clear he was not thrilled with his Herculean efforts to get forward not being rewarded, no runners for his knock downs, and the greed of a certain Brazilian in front of goal tonight.
