Perhaps it was to give Marmoush the ovation he deserved from the crowd.

Plus Erling was the captain, so maybe he just wanted him to stay on.
He could've reversed the order of the Marmoush-Haaland subs, Haaland gets a rest after an hour, and Marmoush gets the standing ovation later on.

Plenty of times, okay I’ll just write you off of one of those that think Peps becomes some sort of idiot . I ‘ll keep to myself what I think that makes you.
So let’s say Haaland misses a pen and 2 open nets in a game. If someone says Haaland had a shocker today in his thread will you ask how many the poster has scored? That’s similar to what you’re doing here when someone has said Pep has got it wrong a few times. Nobody has said Pep is an idiot.

He didn’t say a few times ,which I still think is overstating it. He said plenty and listed all the different aspects. Anyway this is the Haaland thread, so enough of the Pep analysis for me.

Fantastic display today. We had a plan to play more directly, involve him more and he was prepared, he knew the balls were going to come this time and he dealt with them well, hold up play was good, good unselfish movement that opened space for others. Might not have scored himself but his display allowed us to play as well as we did. Captains role suits him too. Brilliant all round performance. The idea Isak is a better all round striker has just been firmly buried.

Be nice for him to have someone like Mormoush to take the weight of scoring every single game off of his shoulders.

I hope it will not be a big risk small reward
It seems that he is significantly more needed in the continuation of the English Premier League, than in a competition in which we can hardly go further. I don't think I sound pessimistic, I'm more of a realist.

I have no idea why Pep brought Marmoush off when he played like 5 minutes against Madrid instead of Haaland who's been playing 90 minutes since the start of the season, you've got another forward now so let Erling have some rest ffs, I really hope that was nothing serious because if he's injured it's an absolute brain fart from Pep yet again this season.

Boateng missed months of a season after being hit in the knee by a drinks trolly on a flight. Cañizares missed the world cup after dropping an aftershave bottle on his foot.

Injuries happen anywhere, anytime.

The examples you mentioned are freak incidents, injuries still mostly happen on the field or in training, I'm just saying there was a chance to get him off earlier and give him some rest, it doesn't really matter now since he's fine but Pep needs to be careful with him.

You don’t consider tripping over flat grass whilst jogging a ‘freak incident’?

There’s every chance he does that in the warm down or on the 4g walking to the bench.
If he’d have overstretched a groin or hammy I tend to agree. But not for a stumble on grass. The guy likes scoring you know.
