9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

The way we play trying to accommodate his style is killing us. I absolutely guarantee if he was 'rested' for a while we'd go on a run.
We play the opposite to his style? Do you think Haaland benefits from us playing really slow and allowing all of their players back to mark him and others? He absolutely has to do more and I want him to have that rest too, but we absolutely do not try to accommodate his style.

A serious question here, not meant to be flippant: is Haaland better than Andy Cole?

Limited player who smashes in a load of goals but misses a few sitters per game.

Isak/Kane/Henry obviously more all-rounders. And Shearer type can score every type of goal.

Cole was obviously from the rotten side of town, but his numbers were good. In a thought experiment, would we be in a different position with Cole in the striker spot for the last few yeas?

On reflection, missing out on Kane (and Rice) was probably the beginning of the end - fully acknowledging that we won the treble after that.

Rice wouldn't have helped us. Not at that price, I actually think he made Arsenal less fluid

He has a great goal scoring record, yet when he’s not clinical in games, and that happens rather often, the opponent is never out of the game. Guardiola continually plays him because he believes he needs to find rhythm and form, but that’s a luxury not afforded other players, so I’m looking forward to the Huddersfield game and seeing what alternative we’ve concocted.

Rice is massively overrated imo. (Same with Bellingham). He's slow and ponderous but takes a good free kick.

Being able to take an inswinging corner does not a top class player make.

That is not a serious question.

We are and it is killing us.

That one where he went through and tamely passed it to the keeper. That was really crap.
it's as if one of his circuit boards lost power for a split second, maybe he had an outage just at the wrong time, IT will check the data and replace any software that's needed

Cole was actually a much better player than he gets credit for. When he played for us i was surprised how good his touch was and how well he could link the play.

Most overrated player in the world. I like Belligham but he's not the player people think he is.

Are you been serious.
Haaland is a generational player.
He scores goals.
We play to his strengths like in his first season he smashes it.
Have a word with yourself

80 odd goals in 100 league games.
And your not happy

And if he wasn't on the pitch he would be able to score.
I can't believe people actually believe we would be better without him.
He's not the problem the way we play is the problem
Of course he has to play, but please read what I wrote. He cannot play every game, so we need to find an alternative, especially as Marmoush will go to AFCON.

Cole won the treble and everything else.

I am not saying Cole is a better player. I am asking if things would have been different. I don't think so. Both bang goals in. Both miss a fair few sitters. Both don't add much else to the play.

Imagine Henry or Shearer in the team. That would likely be a different result.

Some players have purple patches,..be it a season or two,or a few years..I never felt like he was going to finish that 1st chance, when he was played through last weekend.I was right…he managed to shit his pants, decelerate, then scuff a wimpy shot straight at the keeper.Said it before,..strangest footballer I’ve ever seen!?His stats just don’t correlate to your eyes!Certainly this last couple of years anyway..

All top strikers miss "easy" chances and scuff shots. If they didn't, they'd be all banging in 80 a season. It's just highlighted more with Haaland because he's held to very high standard when it comes to goals.
