9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

We must understand his frustration, not only with the result of the match, but also with the lack of ambition shown by some of his teammates when the team is leading. They don't try to extend the lead and kill the game, which leaves the opponent alive. He is sometimes ignored despite his numerous calls.

Yesterday, on two occasions, Reijnders preferred to hook a shot, then hit the crossbar while he was alone on his right, in a better position. And the second time, Gvardiol, who chose to shoot when he could have passed, was an example of this.

We are fortunate to have an exceptional finisher who maximizes goal-scoring opportunities. He must be our number one target for finishing and be favored more than any other player.

The players must also work on improving their decision-making in the final third of the pitch; the team's progress must also come from there.

That’s a proper response from a player after a defeat. I hope he went into the dressing room and put a rocket up the arse of some of the other players.
it's also brought on some very bad articles i've seen who have taken his words as he's not happy and will be looking for the exit door soon. i love the way haaland is after games he's so honest and doesn't have that poker face, feels like he could be captain of man city in the near future. that's if he stays long enough if you read into the articles haha

Its funny, I've been reading all day of people complaining about how nobody else on the team is scoring ("own goal" is our second highest scorer) and here you are complaining because they're trying to :-)

Apparently, my point wasn't clear, so I'll try to simplify with an example. During the transition against Arsenal, Reijnders had three choices: charge forward and pass to Doku, play alone and try to score, or wait to pass to Haaland. He opted for the third option, and he made the right choice.

Yesterday, Gvardiol had the opportunity to pass to Haaland, but he didn't, and Reijnders also preferred to try a dribble and then shoot when he had Haaland next to him, free of any marking and in a clearer angle, As the spirit of the game demanded that Haaland pass to Foden against Arsenal when he received the ball from Doku because Phil was better positioned, it would have allowed us to kill the match.

This doesn't prevent other players from scoring and contributing to their goal quota this season, but when the Haaland option is available and the spirit of the game demands it, you shouldn't hesitate, because he is the best finisher in the world.

Well hes certainly gone if we don't make a couple of big signings next summer. Even with that long contract he signed I never saw him staying forever anyway. I would have him Madrid bound by 28 at the latest regardless of whats around him.
Gone, to where? Hardly any club in the world could afford him.

Mbappe will be Madrid's #9 until he retires. It’s now becoming his team there in Madrid. They won’t be signing Haaland.

Barça will need to replace Lewandowski soon but they don’t have anywhere near the money to buy Haaland. Unless something drastic happens to their finances when they move back to the Camp Nou where they could possibly sign him after a few years of generating the revenue. It’s a big ‘if’ though.

Bayern never spend the kind of fees it would take to sign Haaland.

Liverpool have signed Isak for £110m.

Paris could afford him but would Haaland want to play in France? They also have Dembele up front who’s just won the Balon d’Or so they could save money just by keeping him.

Italian football? Beautiful country and has some giant clubs but I doubt any of them could afford him and I don’t think he’d drop to play in that league.

Chelsea are about the only other side, but they’re a bit of an odd team and you never know who’s going to be their coach from one season to the next so I couldn’t see Haaland wanting the play there.

Newcastle, depending on their ability to spend with amended PSR? I can’t see it.

Arsenal? I think he hates them more than any other team.

Saudi Arabia? I doubt Haaland would consider it, he’s already earning £27.3m a year just from his City contract, never mind any sponsors he has with the wider exposure he gets playing for City in the PL+CL, so there’d be no reason to go to Saudi Arabia.

Haaland has signed a massive 10 year contract to stay at City and will likely be staying at City. The only club I could see him going to would be Barcelona but there are huge question marks over their ability to afford him. Madrid wouldn’t need him and nobody else could afford him or he wouldn’t sign for them.

Alfie had a brief chat with Viana last week about the squad going forward. Nothing major but it would indicate that they are looking for reassurance of squad depth quality going forward.

Not saying you’re wrong but how would you know this yet you pester every single person who may have a teeny tiny bit of transfer information?
