We should be taking lessons from Norway, despite inferior players, they supply haaland way more than we do. Its scary to think how many he could get for us in a side that was built to create chance after chance for him and not just 1 or 2 a game.

They do have some really good attacking players to be fair in Nusa, Bobb and Ødegaard. That is not far of ours.

Another perspective is to compare him to other Norwegian internationals.

The previous record holder was Jørgen Juve, who completed his 33rd goal for Norway in 1934.

That record stood for nearly 100 years. No Norwegian has ever scored more goals for the national team than that – until Erling just smashed it, and is now at an incredible 51 goals at 25 years of age. Juve's 33 goals still stand at a clear 2nd place, still miles behind young Erl.

He's just a phenom.

Gerd Muller is the closest thing in the last 60 years: 68 goals in 62 apps for West Germany (incredible) and 34 goals in 35 European cup games for Bayern.

Ståle Solbakken has sent home big Erl and 4 other champiosn league players so they can get some rest. Nypan has been called up to replace him.

Another absolutely wild stat that makes him an outlier. He has made 104 league appearances for us, and in that time he has been flagged offside just 18 times. That's about 5-6 times per season, or once every 10 hours of match time!

Just for comparison, in the same time period Salah has been offside 61 times and Vardy 75 times (and in Vardy's case, that's in fewer league appearances). Naturally they are different players, as they rely on fine margins playing off the shoulder of the defenders, but still.

This is another hint that his awareness of what's going on around him is arguably the thing that makes his strike rate so high, and why he always finds himself in the right places at the perfect time. Package that with his absurd physicality and you can see that even when defenders know what he's going to do, they're often powerless to stop him (see -> van den Berg).
