9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

Should have scored but we should never be in a position where our striker has to score every single opportunity he gets for us to stand a chance. Supplying the best striker on the planet with a single opportunity over 90 minutes is just inexcusable.

Hope he isn't injured, was struggling with his back second half and didn't look right since and then he goes into the post. We'll be utterly fucked if he picks up an injury.
Not every. Just the ones when he is 1 v 1 with the goalkeeper. He should be scoring 90% of those. He has missed the last 4.

Its like missing 4 straight penalties. It looks bad no matter How many others you bang in.

For all the red meat, it looked as if he'd taken the Nasri bravery pills when closing down Cash's shot.

He's generally a great finisher but I do wish he'd work on controlling with his right foot. Again today, he has to control with his left to get his body around the ball to shoot with his left, and that's always going to make it harder.

Missed a golden chance just after they’d scored. Made it too obvious what he was going to do and to do that finish, you need to set it out wide of the post and let it come in.

Should’ve lifted it or gone near post.

You said he should be scoring 90% of 1 vs 1s and that missing four is like missing 4 penalties.

If you weren't comparing them to penalties in how easy they are to score, what point were you making?
ThT missing 1 v 1s look bad even if you are banging in many goals.

Just like missing 4 straight will still look bad even if you were banging in goals otherwise. The point isn't that they are alike. Rather is that the expectation that you'd score are high on 1 v 1s just like they are high on penalties.

Its not really that complicated.

You said he should be scoring 90 percent of one on one goals which is a fucking stupid thing to expect from anyone and now you’re changing what you claimed you meant when called out on it.

Why are so many of your posts on so many topics so bad? The fucking Jadon Sancho of Bluemoon.

No, they aren't, 1 vs 1s are way harder tp score than penalties.

Have you ever played a game of football?

Proper response:

“I was overzealous. I was wrong. Scoring a 1 on 1 is far more difficult than scoring a penalty because the keeper and defenders can move toward an attacker. I retract my comment that Haaland — or any striker — should score 90 percent of his 1 on 1s.”

See how easy it is when you just admit the truth instead of trying to defend something dumb you wrote?

Only criticism I have of him is he has missed 3 or 4 one v one opportunities this season. He definitely needs to change his approach when faced with the GK's

Other than that he was the only one who looked liked scoring today.

We would be bottom half of the table without him this season.

Maxime Esteve is still our second top scorer with two goals after 9 PL games. Even in 13 games in all competitions, Foden is only joint second with Esteve with 2 goals.

I think this team could do with a spell without Haaland holding their hand to score goals and gain points.

If Haaland was out for a month, let’s say he sticks the nut on the ref next week and gets a seven game ban, the other players would be forced to step up and do something.

It could be the best thing that happens to this team. They’d have to shit themselves into doing more.

They should be doing that without losing him

His love for City will never diminish.

But he won’t stay at City for 10 more years if City aren’t seriously challenging for the PL title, the CL, and other trophies.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will always be at the back of his mind and an ever increasing and tempting option.

Not that Barcelona can afford him.
