Did well as always, but scored too! Tidy finish and all.

Interestingly he played deeper than Mahrez and Sterling on average.

took his goal well but again it was laid on a plate for him by great approach play...as previously mentioned he is a great "fox in the box" but still think we need more - not getting rid of Jesus but another type of forward to suppliment him

Well what do you know, awfully quiet here recently, maybe Jesus scored?

good finish, and basically created the own goal also, yes he should have shot sooner and got lucky it turned out to be an own goal but fine.

Will be good for his confidence.

He was brilliant last night and half the comments since have still been negative. Great finish which wasn't as easy some suggest. His involvement with the own goal was class - dropped into midfield and switched a lovely pass out to De Bruyne. The ball got back to Jesus who played a nice 1-2 on the edge of the area, the ball never quite sat right but the defender knocks it in anyway.

Some people see the 2 secs of him not hitting it, Guardiola sees the 30 seconds before. There were also at least 3 occasions where Jesus made defensive contributions deep in our half whilst Mahrez and Foden were idling on halfway.

And he could easily have had a couple more assists if others took their chances. Is that 11 goals and 5/6 assists in 16 starts for our 23 yo second striker?

Meanwhile, our Director of Football also took time out to praise Gabriel Jesus.

The City striker scored a fine one-touch finish to set us on our way to victory over Steve Bruce’s side, finishing off a flowing move.

It brought to an end a nine-game run without a goal - and Begiristain was clearly delighted for the Brazilian.

"His work rate, he’s unbelievable,” Begiristain said. “He helps a lot by creating space for the midfielders.

“He’s the number nine and he likes to score and today he could.

"We are always happy with the work rate."

I don't recall anyone mentioning from the Dipper game how good Gabe's pass was to Foden who passed to Raz for the second goal.
He took the pass up the middle, took one touch, and laid it off perfectly in front of Foden who took in full stride maintaining momentum.
Too often these are held up by others and we lose the chance.

Yeah I did a big post a page or two ago on this. If you check the statistics he and KDB are runaway leaders in a lot of these categories. His numbers are so good that he doesn't even need to be a top class finisher to score a ton of goals.

So out of the 19 goals he has scored this season only 2 of them have been against a top 6 side which is Leicester.

He also bagged against Madrid away.

He has had 11 assists none against a top 6 team or any decent opposition in the champions league.

But Aguero doesn't have a single goal against the top 6 either and has less assists.

So you can see why we have struggled this season our strikers are either not taking their chances against the top 6 or we have just not been good enough in creating chances for them.

Enough I'd imagine to suggest he's got excellent off the ball movement.

True. However as we've seen in recent games when put through on goal he often fluffs his chances, nor does he seem to create chances himself.

I can't think of many better players who would be happy playing second fiddle to Aguero most of the time.

Would be nice to have the option of a bit height when we need it though.
