Well, we can keep mitigating for him or we can say he's been a few years now, he's 22, he's supposed to be ours and Brazil's #9 for the next decade so let's see that step up in his finishing that befits wearing those 2 jerseys. I want Kun to leave and not miss him because Jesus has usurped him, at the moment I'm hoping he comes off the bench to finish the chances Jesus is squandering. Being that far behind statistically isn't good enough at the start of the season and for me he needs to improve. It's my honest view and I've already said he works his arse off and I appreciated that again today, I just want those really good chances to be in the back of the net, no questions asked. He's capable, he just needs to be consistent and go up a level. He's in Sane's shoes from last season, other guys have stepped up a level and it's now his turn. Sane couldn't hold down a starting spot because he couldn't do it consistently at the level we know he can reach, Jesus is the same. If Jesus was truly nailing it and on fire, he'd be in that team with or without Kun on a far more regular basis.

I wouldn't say he's not been good enough in front of goal and that he can and should do better unless I truly believed he was capable. I want to see him achieve it, but to do that we need to go beyond the Jesus we've had the past few years into the next level Jesus, much like in 17/18 Sterling went to another level that we're still benefiting from today.
If you knew anything about football you wouldn't have written this bag of shite, football is so so easy in your eyes isn't it.

Well let me tell you it fucking isn't an easy sport.

I have to agree with you here. He needs to make that jump up in terms of finishing, no doubt about it. I'm a little disappointed it hasn't come along as quickly as I assumed it would. I think that it's extremely promising that he's been able to hang as close to Kun as he has though and that goes to show that he's making up for that gap with other intangibles. If he hovers around the 125min/goal mark by seasons end with ~4,000 minute then we can start raising questions. we need another 1500 this season before we start posing questions about it IMO. Personally, I don't think they give him much freedom as his runs behind are almost entirely ignored. He's also not given the freedom that Kun has to create and fire off shots on his own. It's obviously by design and probably in the best interest of the team but I'd like to see him given more freedom on the ball around goal and get him more chances getting behind. That's bias on my part, but I think there's something in that to a degree.

I think it's also reflected in the calibre of opponents Jesus is selected for compared to Kun. That has to be factored into the discussion.

I think the rest of your post comes down to the fact that whilst Kun has adapted his game to Pep, he still owns his territory up front and if he wants to dribble at 3 people and shoot he's going to do it because he's Kun. Jesus is far too much "Mr. Nice Guy" and happy to be here and it's that nice streak instead of killer, ruthless streak that holds him back. He needs to start going "fuck this", stick it in the top corner and own the shirt. He also has to adapt his game to the team, but equally per the FA Cup Final he is put in behind by the likes of Kev when he makes the right runs and the right time. His innate ability to be offside probably counts against him a little bit. He also gets in very good positions for headers, but very subjectively I think Sterling and Kun often get into better positions for cut-backs and low crosses. Today for example we constantly got in on the left but I never once felt Jesus was in a great position to be found.

well, it's the truth. Your problem if you don't accept it. Who said anything, or gives a fuck, about it being "easy". He's a top level professional aiming to be world class and will be judged against his peers. Bizarre attitude in here like he's somehow still wearing a nappy and needs molly coddling.

I'm pretty sure Gabby's number of goals scored at this stage of his career is not a lot different to Sergio's at a similar stage.

Gabby and Sergio have almost exactly the same ratio of goals to shots and number of big chances missed per game.

Gabby is absolutely on course to be Sergio's long-term replacement and if he spends the next ten years at City, he could well break Sergio's goal scoring records for City but who knows what the future holds. Right here, right now Gabby is doing fine and making good progress.

What you on about OB, he missed 2 sitters today against Villa hes not good enough haven't you heard.

Maybe we should sell him to Bayern for £100m, and get er Rashford in.

Im off this thread from now on, cant be arsed talking to numpties.

Well your a whopper. I suppose you were one of the ones on sterling's back, before he matured into the star he is now? Gabby record speaks for itself and Its up there with the best the premier league has ever seen. Hes up against the greatest goal scorer in the prem. If you dont think hes good enough your either a wum or fucking braindead.

Wasn't so much Mr Nice Guy last week when Kev was in about three acres of space in front of goal and Gabby chose to blast it straight at the keeper.

Basically these no nothings have never kicked even a pigs bladder. They are saying pep is a clown in reality , with Jesus and Gundogan.
As long as pep knows, you realise the facts and so do I, then I shouldn't bother with the long arguments .

Jesus’ goal record is decent, but it could be better.

I remain firmly in the opinion that his finishing needs to be of a more consistent level. Do away with expected goals and whatever, if he wants to take the mantle from Aguero sooner rather than wait his turn, he needs to bag those chances like yesterday on a more frequent basis.

No ones saying he’s shit, but when he’s offering next to nothing like majority of the team in the first half, the very top strikers will pop that chance and have a goal to show for their teams lacklustre efforts.

He’s a good prospect, potentially great and we will see. This weird notion, though, that no one can criticise an aspect of his game otherwise they have it in for him, is bizarre.
