He's having a tough time at the moment , he doesnt look fit , maybe COVID has taken a lot of energy out of his game and Pep is trying to get him match fit , but he contributed virtually nothing he was nuisance value at best. A fit Jesus is always looking for space in the box and a real pain in the arse for opposition defenders, but he is knowhere near his best form , he is a likable kid with a good attitude but we desperately need Aguero back

The main problem is confidence and I don't know how it can be cured.

For example, Ronaldo had same problem at United and it took years to make him a real super star. Real transformation started in the summer of 2006 when he had a good "World Cup" and then continued well in the PL / CL as well..

I thought that "Copa" should have had the same impact on Jesus and last year somehow it really was - scored 24 goals and made a lot of assists.. This year I was waiting final end product and the player - who is always performing at the same level, leading an attack and etc. and etc. but right now I am hugely disappointed.

Quality is definitely there and it's unquestionable but I think Pep isn't the right manager to take the best out of him.

Hard working & chasing the ball shouldn't prevent him from being regular goal scorer like Tevez.

The absence of Aguero was/is big opportunity for him to prove himself, hopefully he will score couple goals to boost his confidence and then start performing as expected from our Brazilian forward.

He's at the age now where he needs to be showing more. Most top strikers only really start firing from 24-26 and become truly prolific. He's still young and is still learning his game and developing. I think he'd benefit from some time playing wide to take the scoring pressure off and see how he goes. We'd need Aguero back for that to work though. He's a great player, but I'm still not sure on whether he's going to get as many goals as we need from him.

Having said that, Firmino has hardly been prolific for Liverpool but has been an important part of their success in previous seasons.

Hes just not great at putting the ball in the back of the net. Been here about 4 years now and hes averaging about 9-10 PL goals a season, which in a side like ours that creates so many chances isn't really good enough imo. Think we need to sell him and get a long term Aguero replacement.

he plays all over the place, as souness said yesterday , he is never in a goal scoring position, now is that because he is being asked to, which im sure knowing pep it is, otherwise he would get hooked, our system at the moment has the front man as an attacking midfielder, weve seen the best of city this season when one of the midfielders plays the furthest forward, that is why i cant see us signing an out and out striker , but a small skilful forward , similar to firminho but obviously better.

He's just destined to be a backup striker for us for as long as he's there in my opinion.
Imagine how much better this team would be with a world class striker up front
