Jesus plays because he busts a gut pressing all over the pitch , pulling defenders away etc. But he cant finish hes not a good finisher

Last time he didn't start and aguero did against West ham we noticed it.

I agree with you saying jesus isn't a match winner but Pep doesn't play him to be a regular match winner. He basically plays like a false 9 himself most of the time, he drifts out wide more often than not so that the wingers can cut in, or drops deep so a midfielder can go beyond him, he's not being asked to stay in the box and wait for the ball that will never come yet most of us judge him as that kind of player.

We see him constantly being criticised for not scoring, what was the chance he should have scored today? He had one shot that I can recall that was neither a shot or cross, you can argue he should have done better nd I wouldn't disagree but it would have taken something quite brilliant to score or assist from the position he and his teammates were in. that aside he got zero service and you can't blame it on him not working hard enough to get opportunities.
He had a decent or half chance when he was played in on the edge of the area in the second half. A confident striker would have taken one touch and shot. Instead, every touch he made took him further wide until he ran it out for a goal kick, appealing for a penalty.

I get your point about Jesus helping us to be a better team because of what he brings as highlighted in the West Ham game. However, there was nothing to loose bringing in Aguero 5 or 10 minutes to the end of the game when we were trying to find our way back into the game. Why should he be in the bench if he couldn’t play a little part.

Because he is an attacking left midfielder for previous clubs and country, but can pop up with goals as a bonus

I want my centre forward in the box scoring goals, nothing else. Less of them pressing, link up stories. Even if he's marked out of the game, you still feel that out of nothing he can always produce. If he's good enough to score,he can also hold it up and bring others to play. Simple.
G. Jesus is decent..but what is he? Can't play wide at the highest level cause he isn't that much of a threat in behind/
average movement and finishing/not a ball carrier and he's definitely not a CF as he's just not enough of a goal threat that opposition have to worry about. His stats are decent but that's more about us than him tbh..Danny Ings would hit 20 for us and that's decent level. Elite level CFs like Lukaku,Haaland,Kane,Lewy hit 35+ in this team
His level is Europa league level teams like Napoli,Villareal,Leverkusen or in a 2 upfront alongside another CF and if he's to play at elite level,at somewhere like Atleti, which with their setup, think he'd be perfect, and he's a Simeone type CF.
I'd be looking to tempt Atleti into a swap deal with João Félix. Everybody wins with him needing a new start at a team as a consistent starter, which at his age needs and a league that would suit him and Felix likewise

Needs to calm down. Absolutely no need for him to be within 20 yards of our box 30 seconds into the game, never mind putting in that challenge. Martial was covered and going nowhere, but Jesus clearly couldn’t let it lie that he’d given the ball away beforehand.

Mentally he causes problems for himself I think and he’s even said so in the past.

Another game where he has failed to stake a claim that he will deserve to replace Aguero

I understand his cause for the team, but we need a CF that will cause the oppo back line to be worried he is there, and score goals

Jesus doesnt seem to cause that fear/anxiety at all in the oppo defence

Offers plenty. Delivers little.
I don't see a team anywhere shitting themselves when they walk past him in the line-up.
It's a shame as I'll always remember him making us Centurions at the death, with that superb goal. One of which, maybe even Sergio doesn't have in the locker.
I hope he goes on to finish the season well but he's no longer the future, I'm afraid.

He doesn’t create chances for himself though does he?

Team tap ins are all well and good when we're winning, Jesus scores those type of goals no problems. Rarely does he take the game by the scruff of the bollocks and score an out and out strikers goal to change a game. I can't fault his work ethic but he is not good enough to be our lone striker and make things happen for himself and the team like Aguero has done down the years. I'd sell him for cash or as a makeweight for a top class finisher.
