We need a prolific striker to win things and to lead the line , we wont always have pep to get us to play well with no strikers

I am not so sure we do. In fact, I think that our struggles against a ten-man defence are lessened by playing a system that allows goals to come from more sources. Sergio is such a hero, a legend, that is difficult to countenance not replacing him with a true goal scorer like he is. For me, the better current approach is the one we are using but with an out and out goal-getter in reserve, as a secondary plan. No huge name will accept such a role so I wonder if it is one for a youngster instead, who may become a legend but isn't yet one in the game.

Every team needs a prolific striker , we have drawn too many games without sergio , he has been a huge miss and gabby has not stepped up

You do realise the solution to this is replace Sergio, not Jesus? No one is selling a 23 year old who scores every other game so a 33 year old can have a swansong last season as a backup.

You should be posting in the Aguero thread.

When did 103 goals and assists in 167 games stop being clinical?

That's the irony of Gabby Jesus - if he didn't play for us he'd be third on our list to buy behind only Haaland and Mbappe.

And that's ignoring the fact he's probably the best pressing forward around.

9 to 10 PL goals a season? thats what he is averaging. He hasn't really ripped up trees.

We drew too many games when the whole team had a slump in form. In my opinion, we may be better with 3 midfielders who may be capable of 20 a piece.

That is over four years or there abouts and doesnt show the picture of him starting well, tailing off, the odd good game then poor again , he just hasnt worked out long term , for me

Sergio has been out how long ? He should have staked his claim, injuries permitting

Play him left wing , he is rarely in the box and when sergio leaves replace him as near as we can to him

He doesnt score in the PL every other game does he? His goals per minute is poor for a team that creates as many chances as we do.
