Yeah it was about Bonucci. City tried in the last two weeks when it became clear that it was done with him and Juve and a price had been fixed. Came down to his family/wife. For him to come to City it would've had to have been an offer which broke our own wage structure (which is saying something).
Apologies for not posting yesterday! On City's list of CB's now it comes down to 2, Inigo Martinez and the guy who's name can't be spoken.
I reckon he shall not be named is either a Spurs player or, despite Marti's protestations, a Bayern or Barca player, with Munich the more likely place as they are pretty stacked with CB's.
Good to know that we did at least try for Bonucci. Given his fee, maybe a big signing-on bonus could have persuaded him but sounds like he wanted to stay in Italy.

I said to Sam yesterday actually that I do wonder if it's a player from one of Pep's previous clubs and maybe that's why there's this cloak of secrecy around it.
