94 Year Old Former Guard At Auschwitz Jailed

People keep saying he's lived his life a 'free' man, but really how free could it have been? Unless you're a serious nutcase, being in some way involved in the killings of hundreds of thousands of people can never leave you. He'd have taken it to bed every single night. Every time he sees a Jew, a Brit, a Pole or hears any mention of the war it will all come flooding back. I'm not saying that's his punishment, but I bet he hasn't lived a great life since 1945.
Alternatively he might have been quite proud of his contribution to the murder of 100s of thousands of people that he considered sub-human and has spent the last 70 years laughing to himself that he hadn't been brought to account. Presumably he wasn't in the SS whilst disagreeing with Nazi ideology.

What about the men who carpet bombed innocent Germans? Or were they just orders? Any person who was actively involved in the murder of another innocent human should be punished if that's how people want things done. So for me full transparency or nothing.

Are you seriously comparing the activities of RAF Bomber Command with the SS?

D-Day invasion cancelled due to French farmers milking cows in Normandy fields. A scaled down version may take place in late autumn when the farmers will be holidaying on the south coast with no bombardment to protect french homes...

So you see nothing wrong with bombing innocent people?
I take it from that response that you can see equivalence between being an extermination camp guard assisting in mass murder with being part of a Lancaster crew.

If that's the case why are there British soldiers being held to account for the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners.

I have no idea, but a better question would be why wasn't Blair and his cronies held accountable for a war that should never have started?
