Things will change, must change...it´s called progress
But would you feel the same way if you was losing your job working for the club you love, perhaps a few others on this thread should ask themeselves that question before they comment.

I've been unemployed for 12 months - I'll go to f***ing Middleton

City employ people to get a job done for city, at the cheapest cost, not to comfort employees and cuddle them.
It is this attitude in the world that causes great pain and leads to wars.

I know that seems sentimental but if everyone was a little more considerate to their fellow man, whether rich or poor

Don't see what the fuss is about tbh.

OP doesn't seem to have enough information to comment... other than the really minor relocation, is it a blanket takeover? Will all staff be kept on? Will pay and conditions change?

Sounds like City are outsourcing our merchandise department to give a better service to our growing fanbase.

Fuck you, you considerate, sustainable bastards!

WW III started by Citys relocation of warehousing facility to Middleton! Now that would put us below even the rags in the popularity stakes.

Was it Nostradamus who said that the third world war would start in the Middle East? I suppose he wasn't too far out - Middle (of) East(lands).

We've ruined football........ tomorrow the world.

My department has been outsourced to an employer I didn't want to work for particularly, the department after a year was subjected to mass redundancies with over 100 job losses (approx 50% of staff) as the bulk of our work is now done by cheap labour in India.

My dad's department was outsourced from the Council (he'd worked for them for nearly 40 years), he didn't want to be outsourced. There are now redundancies at his new employer and he could lose his job.

My mum's department (within the Civil Service) is undergoing massive changes, the staff are having to apply for new roles with several facing redundancy if they aren't successful.

This is a modern, capitalist, society. Staff don't like it, but it's the way businesses work in order to maximise profitability. City is a business, not a charity, their staff can moan and complain about it but everyone else is in the same situation.

Outsourcing such activities is good business practice - makes perfect sense and is an everyday occurrence - just progress mate - you must just be disappointed because you know someone that is affected

First it'll be the warehouse, then the ticket office. Next the whole place will be moving to Middleton in order to save money and be eligible for the £2,500 warmsure grant towards the cost of a new boiler and insulation.

Perhaps Garry Cook lives in Middleton and he doesn't like driving back and forward when he's filled his boot with the 'missing' merchandise the warehouse reports each week. The new depot at Middleton will mean less journeys and it's much easier bagging the stuff there and going straight to his local Post Office and send it on to his E-bay clients.
