A bit OTT from MET ( warning sensitive for animal lovers)

It happens and has to be done for safety
When my brother was policing in Devon, a cow threw itself off a cliff into the sea and started swimming towards a crowded beach
The danger was of the cow being deranged and trampling the holiday makers.
the police were called along with a vet with a rifle and the animal was shot just off the shoreline
And of course there was a huge number of complaints from the public even though it was them that the police were protecting

It's a cow, even a rampaging one is big enough to see and avoid, plus it shows in the video it is jogging along.

Even is protocal is to hit it the stun it, the second hit is unecessary.

Having owned cows and lived in a village where they were herded down the street twice a day, I wouldn't have said best way to stop an escaped one is to run the fucker over.

Even if protocol has been covered, which remains to be seen, it’s not a good look for the police.

You’d like to assume that ramming an animal is a last resort in preserving human life, which this doesn’t appear to be.

Awful to see poor animal . Surely a vet could have given it a sedative. Can’t wait to hear the reasons for ramming the cow
