A bit OTT from MET ( warning sensitive for animal lovers)

Sorry we didn't stop the rampaging cow killing your kid, we were waiting for the vet to finish his tea and drive 20 miles to get to us.
Don't think that would wash.
As bad as it looks, the police did the right thing by stopping the animal as quickly as they could.
An out of control animal of that size could do untold damage to life and property if not stopped.

It happens and has to be done for safety
When my brother was policing in Devon, a cow threw itself off a cliff into the sea and started swimming towards a crowded beach
The danger was of the cow being deranged and trampling the holiday makers.
the police were called along with a vet with a rifle and the animal was shot just off the shoreline
And of course there was a huge number of complaints from the public even though it was them that the police were protecting

Was the BBQ held on the beach

Absolutely nobody has ever said a cow couldn’t cause much damage.

But this one wasn’t ’rampaging.’ It was trotting slowly down the road and offering no immediate threat to anybody.

That gobby guy in the black shorts looked like he was capable of doing a bit of damage if the mood took him.

They should maybe have ran him over aswell, just to be on the safe side?

Until it trotts into the middle of a nearby A road where a car skids to avoid it and ploughs straight into people waiting for a bus at a bus stop. It needed stopping, the police stopped it. Correct call, move on

The longer version of the clip shows the cow chasing after the fat bloke it was still moving in his direction as it was hit.

Wasn't a full stampede but it likely would have become more out of control as it tired and got more stressed.

Yeah, it's not called 'mad cow' disease for no reason!

Cows only tend to show agression if they have calves.
If a cow is running towards you running away won't deter it you either stop and move to the side calmly or spread out your arms to look bigger, 99% the cow will fear you and turn away or slow down.

that fat bloke obviously the only cows he knows are in a bun from McDonalds ;-)
