No that is your personal interpretation.
Honestly I don't know how it could be any clearer. Feel free to explain how I'm wrong but it says what it says. Also, are you Catholic?

No mate, I am not a Catholic. My point is that the bible is free for interpretation. It may simply mean when you die, in order to go to heaven you must first pass through Jesus i.e ask for forgiveness and what not.
And lo did the little children all climb the stairway to heaven and ask for forgiveness and what not

Gelson chp1 part 1

People always say "Why does God allow evil and suffering?" Well God has allowed people to do something about it

What about God allowing firefighters to rescue people?

What about God allowing scientists to find cures for illnesses?

What about God allowing people to donate organs?

One of my favourite stories is a man was praying one night and he asked "Why do you allow so much evil and suffering in the world? Why didn't you do something about it?". At that point, a voice from heaven said "I did do something about it - I made you"

Please, don't make it seem like i condone the suffering of children. I do not.

Why create illnesses only for us to find cures?
Why allow people to have their organs fail?
Paul, your argument fails. If a god created this world without the Big Bang and evolution then why not just make it perfect?

When i create something, i try to make it near perfect. I am only human so i make mistakes, did god make mistakes when he created this world? Or this is some kind of test?

It was a little joke about your use of a colloquial phrase in relation to the god myth. If you really want to help suffering children, invest your time and efforts in the real world. There is no evidence of god easing the physical suffering of anyone. There is plenty of measurable prove that medicine does.

Why did he wait until the last couple of centuries before "allowing them to rescue people" ?

I thought it was well accepted that religion had held science back at least a couple of hundred years.

Depends on which particular branch of religion you're talking about. Jehovahs don't even allow blood transfusions. Or are they not worshipping the right god ?

I have never claimed that there is. I've also never claimed that god eases pain ( physical pain ). It is however possible that through the concept of god that some people find confront and ease their pain.

We're just regurgitating the same answers that we discussed on the atheist / agnostic thread.

I started this thread because that clip at the start with the combination of music and beauty touched my soul.

Everyone has a soul, but some people seem to have a dormant one.

I genuinely wish their souls could come to life because the world is a very different place after that.

There are answers in the Atheist/Agnostic thread?

I genuinely wish that those too cowardly to accept the reality of the universe would grow some balls and help the rest of us find real solutions to the problems we face rather than claim some false moral/spiritual superiority while stealing our oxygen.

We can all live in hope!

Bollox, you could have titled the thread "I find this beautiful and moving" instead you wanted to peddle more of your disturbed evangelical nonsense.

Had you entitled it "I find this beautiful and moving", I could have told you that Russell Watson is a crap singer that wouldn't get a walk on part at any decent opera....and he's a feckin' rag to boot!!
