A brief glimpse of God and Creation

People always say "Why does God allow evil and suffering?" Well God has allowed people to do something about it

What about God allowing firefighters to rescue people?

What about God allowing scientists to find cures for illnesses?

What about God allowing people to donate organs?

One of my favourite stories is a man was praying one night and he asked "Why do you allow so much evil and suffering in the world? Why didn't you do something about it?". At that point, a voice from heaven said "I did do something about it - I made you"

i thought there couldn't be any worse than pauldomonic on bluemoon for blind faith but you certainly take the biscuit.
i take it you absolutely believe/know there is a deity
if so have you some evidence we can peruse
(if it upsets a few on here so be it)

how about to your analogies above, replace "a god" with "no god" and it fits just as well

In terms of can I prove God exists, the short answer is no. However, I can give evidence which I feel strongly point to His existence. Take the intricate detail of creation for a start, or the fact that archaeologists frequently make discoveries that confirm the bible

Where have we heard this before?

This argument is absurd on so many levels. If God is recognized for "allowing" people to do good things then he is just as guilty for "allowing" people to do bad things.

What about God allowing his chosen people to massacre entire cities of men, women and children in multiple instances in the old testament.

What about God allowing and approving of slavery?

What about God allowing priests in his own Church to rape children who he deems so precious?

How can a God like that possibly be just and worth honoring?

big opportunity here uwe
give us the most important intricacy from creation thats supports evidence for a deity
and the most archaeological discovery that confirms the bible
can't say fairer than that

Why create illnesses only for us to find cures?
Why allow people to have their organs fail?
Paul, your argument fails. If a god created this world without the Big Bang and evolution then why not just make it perfect?

When i create something, i try to make it near perfect. I am only human so i make mistakes, did god make mistakes when he created this world? Or this is some kind of test?

We're just regurgitating the same answers that we discussed on the atheist / agnostic thread.

I started this thread because that clip at the start with the combination of music and beauty touched my soul.

Everyone has a soul, but some people seem to have a dormant one.

I genuinely wish their souls could come to life because the world is a very different place after that.

Bollox, you could have titled the thread "I find this beautiful and moving" instead you wanted to peddle more of your disturbed evangelical nonsense.

Had you entitled it "I find this beautiful and moving", I could have told you that Russell Watson is a crap singer that wouldn't get a walk on part at any decent opera....and he's a feckin' rag to boot!!

you took the words right out of my mouth lloydie
even for you paul that was outrageous

You are aware that the Ark of Covenant didnt actually melt the Nazi's head off? It was just an actor mate. I think he popped up in Spooks last year.

Dinosaurs and man co-existed, the evolutionary timetable is wrong. We are supposed to believe 65 million years passed between dinosaurs vanishing and humans existing. But why does every human culture have stories about dinosaurs?
