A club crest we can all agree on..

i like the current crest as well

I love it as it is.

I like the aesthetics of a circular badge,
I'd prefer the Abu Dhabi bird if we have to have one.
I can also live without the red background from the City of Manchester arms as well.
The ship has to be the Manchester Ship so it has to have 4 masts.

SO pop the Manchester arms (with blue replacing red) in front of the Abu Dabbi bird and shrink it into the centre of the circular badge and I think we have a badge that matches old and shows grateful thanks to our owner.

Very interested in your comment about the Manchester ship having 4 masts Mr Blue Anorak. I used to love drawing the crest when I was a kid and had always noticed city's ship was a lot more intricate than the one on uniteds crest which was quite basic so didn't look like they were taken from the same coat of arms. Is this something to do with what you have said about city's being a Manchester ship do you know?

I think the St. Marks crosses are better from both a historical reference and cohesive design standpoint, personally.

Manchester isn't in Lancashire anymore, I don't think there's any need for a red rose.

Love Gav's designs, I think if we were to get a new badge it would be very similar to this design, but without the crosses, and the colour scheme will be more in keeping with the NYCFC one. Sky blue, white, navy blue and possibly gold as opposed to orange.

The shield might be red, but as we already have a variation of the COA shield using sky blue, I'd be surprised if we changed it back to red.

I'm pretty sure the ships on the Manchester COA pre-date the ship canal. I read somewhere that the ship signified Manchester's trade with the world, and the bees represent Manchester's hard working citizens.

I agree. I've hated our badge from day one. Gav should be brought in. Regarding the colours as long as the design is the same the colours can vary for me. I just can't decide which I like best which is my reasoning!!

havent done anything, just fused the current CFG crests with elements from City's past crests. Sure City have a few loose coins laying around to hire someone much better than me lol
