A fully fit Ireland or fully fit Johnson?

Ireland without a shadow of a doubt. You won't see Johnson have the season Ireland had last year and i guarantee that won't be Ireland's best season in his career.

But now the new Colin Bell is back, theres no room for Superman, YCMIU.
 
Could come down to the players attitude and application.
Plenty of potentially great players have fallen by the wayside, if the rumours about Jonno are true is he going out on the lash everytime he has a bad game?
I think the problem with Ireland is that he cold be TOO dedicated, not taking a break in the last 2 closed seasons?
Why not have both in the team. It was good to see that 2 players who were off colour last night got subbed (SWP and Barry) With Richards dropped as well I think the penny might drop that if the players don't play well there is someone waiting to take their place.
Last season Robbie knew he could just turn up and get picked every week, but not now. Petrov, Weiss or Bellamy could fit in and it looks the same in midfield, well all over the field really.
I'd like Vinny back to put pressure on Lescott, who get brushed aside too easily fo me.
 
The question is fully fit Ireland or Johnson, Johnson is just on his way back, it may take him the rest of this season to get near to Ireland in terms of fitness. Just wish people would lay off the players, cut them some slack, chill out, watch the games, see the points roll in. I have no doubt that every player in our squad will have something to contribute to the team whether it is coming off the bench or starting every match. Just support the team squad and MH. CTID

Both, what a crap question favouring one over the other. Two home grown players firing on all cylinders, a dream. Why do we have to have favourites for gods sake. Its like primary school. City will benefit from having both, surely thats the important thing.
 
I'm all for healthy debate but why oh why do we have to play our own off against each other. There's plenty of time for Johnno to progress and become the player we all hope he can become, Stevie is proven at this level - for Christ's sake dont diss him!

Question for you about Stevie, how many midfielders have Man U "man marked" in the last 5 seasons, yes including Euro?

A very high compliment to a very talented young man who can turn games in a flash

If Johnson wants what Ireland has got so far under Hughes he will have to work for it. I like Johnson but look at the midfield that we have there are going to be some pissed off players this season. Kompany , Ireland , De Jong , Barry and Johnson all battling for a central role in coming seasons will be great but you will get players not willing to wait for there chance and may move on from the club.

Johnson needs a good run of games to get back to his peak if he could go out on loan until Xmas and get a good run of games under his belt he would be a real force later in the season.

I think Ireland has won over Hughes last season and now Hughes wants to use him more central than attacking which Ireland has to get used too. Ireland could be like a Gerrard or Lampard for City if he was played more advance up the field which is something Johnson is not as good as Ireland at doing.
 
Both. Ireland and Johnson can complement each other perfectly in the same side, Ireland as the playmaker, Johnson as a box to box midfielder. Both have ten years to go yet, I can't wait to see them both in their prime.

With Messi on the right of course!
