Changed the criteria a couple of days before has meant loads have been marked down ,they are pleased just to pass and get into uni
I am aware. I have just graduated with a 2:1 in History from York, a top ten university for the subject. Annoyingly, I was half a mark away from a First Class. I also say that as someone who was rejected at the interview stage for Oxford.
What I meant by bloating is the complete parity in entry level. In my opinion, there should be some sort of scaling. For instance, Oxford would require one A* and so on.
I also never claimed that you should get into university with a F.
I didn't think there was anything wrong with using slang on Bluemoon.
Just watched 3 pupils open results live on sky. One girl with a beaming smile declaring to the camera how happy she is with her "F" as it gets her into University.
WTF? Is this where we are at now in society that a "F" is seen as a success and pass and makes someone suitable to go into a degree course?
University is now a business that will take anyone so long as they get their money.
Hilariously she actually said “she’d got ENOUGH to get into university” not an F. I’d imagine the OP will be rushing to correct the thread title as soon as possible......
Cheers pal, hes quite, well in fact very studious ! Like his mum . I lived in York a while back and love going back as its so nice .Hes doing physics , we are just so relieved .
Which examining board has an F grade? I call bullshit on this. A-level grades run A to E and the O and U are the only other options, and neither would get you a university place.Just watched 3 pupils open results live on sky. What an absolute shock to everyone, I'm sure.A-level results: Government accused of 'baking in' inequality with 'boost' for private schools
Independent schools saw top grades jump 4.7% year-on-year - more than double the figure at secondary comprehensives.news.sky.com
That's made my day.
With the employability of a History degree, next week ;)When do you start on the bins son?
Private schools seem to have benefited most from this year's A-levels results change, fuelling claims the system is disadvantaging pupils from poorer backgrounds.
