A life without tomatoes

British tomatoes are tasteless compared to those that grow in Spain/Portugal/Italy/Greece.
Depends if they are seasonal. If they are they are, they are delicious and if they are homegrown they are even better;)

I find most shop bought taste of water, whilst the homegrown versions have a distinct tang to them.

Mrs Ewing doesn't eat a tomato, my bro-i-law doesn't but he grows 'em and I get 'em.

Growing a few outside this year. Plenty on but no sign of red, which I suppose can be seen as a good thing!

Love them but increasingly they are going straight through me which isn’t pleasant at all.

No idea why but I fear I’m suddenly becoming intolerant to them.
It can happen as you get older with a number of things mate, often it’s the fact your body chemistry and hormones change slightly, I’m the same with eggs unless they’re boiled although I just throw them up, and coffee bloats me to fuck, 2 things I’ve eaten or drank in abundance all my life.

I remember over 20 years ago first eating a beef tomato in Greece, it was like eating steak it was that tasty, incredible.
