That Mail story was quite amusing if the Ashley Cole to Madrid bit is true, us getting Kolarov weakening one of our rivals indirectly.

If Vidic goes to Real the rags are fucked defensively IMO.
Horse face is getting on now and has really bad injury problems, his form last season was shocking defeinately not a top 4 player from what I have seen of him over the last 12 months.
Vidic covered alot of his mistakes.
Real want Cashely cole as well. Between our strengthening efforts and Real potentially weakening 2 of the sides above its happy days.
Regardless of money you just cannot replace players like Vidic and Cole, there simply are not better players available really regardless of the club or how much you have to spend.
