A Mancini criticism this season

I feel the undropables are feeling the amount of football that we have had to play so far over the Xmas and there is still more to come. The likes of Silva , Kompany and Yaya are in need of resting sooner rather than later. We have a big squad capable of doing well without the 3 against teams like WBA and below them maybe resting 1 or 2 of them would help in the longterm. I feel these players could burnout with the amount of football they have played this season when it really matters in the closing games of the season.

Yaya going to African Cup of Nations after that tournament with the amount of games he could play if the Ivory Coast go on to win it. It is a lot of football in the time he is away. He will need resting when he returns from the Cup. I dont know why they dont have it at the end of the season like every other World , Euros and Copa America. Just doesnt make sense.

if i was mancini i would just headbutt all the players, so anything that departs from that strategy impresses my tiny mind
What, what if problem is not in players but in Mancini, so who will headbutt him? How I understood he is that person who made phone calls to Dubai, so does that mean that he don't have a boss in Manchester?

We have the best players in EPL, right? Yes of course. Did they have enough experience? Yes of course, even in Champions league.

So where is the problem?

There's pretty much no problems or they rarely happen :)

-- Mon Dec 26, 2011 11:09 pm --

I f***ing hope Ivory Coast would lose all group games :)

Happy clappers won't like this, just a warning.

Mancini has got pretty much everything spot on this season, however I think the decision to drop in form players has been a poor one.

Edin Dzeko in August got 8 goals in 5 games (4 in 1 game) and got player of the month. The next game against Wigan he was dropped, he then didn't score for over a month and wasn't playing well. I think this was a mistake.

James Milner was player of the month in November, had changed nearly all the fans opinions of him and was playing class. He then got dropped for three games and has had a poor month for us.

I think for now that when a player is in form, he should keep his place as it's affecting performances. I just hope Lescott doesn't have a bad patch now as he's been our best defender this year.

I know people are gonna say about the rotation system and I agree, but not when players are playing really well. Kompany wasn't in form earlier this season and he kept his place, same with Yaya. Yet other players playing better are getting dropped.

AGREED

More of bit of bad luck fixture wise always seem to get some strange results around Christmas/New Year time and we got handed 2 tricky away games followed by Liverpool at home.Where as Utd copped for 2 home games against Wigan and Blackburn i believe the balance will shift in our favour in Feb they've got some tough games and still got to come to us as well. Plus if David Silva had tucked that straight forward chance away we wouldn't have had a problem today not a lot Mancini did wrong today to be honest keep calm and we'll be alright.

Agree with the Op, some of the crosses that Clichy made were perfect for Edin I thought and also AJ should have started. However if we had won id have not posted this.

I think its abundantly clear to even the most limited of posters that some players are 'confidence' players

Dzecko can't be brought in willy nilly and expected to play at a consistent level. It doesn't make him a bad player.

Today's result was just one of those things. It happens. There's no major criticism of the manager or
The players. Aj could
Have been introduced earlier, and picking kolo above lescott is idiocy. But we will be back. The next month is crucial: with Micah and lescott there we will be a much better team

I'd have Lescott in the team before Kolo but against a WBA team that were never really going to pose that many problems why risk him getting injured when Toures going to be missing for 4 weeks shortly,I get sort of see where Mancinis coming from with that one wouldn't fancy Komps and Savic against Spurs Liverpool and Utd.

I'm not Sure he was resting lescott. He certainly hasn't rested kompany yet . a game like today, one corner or free kick and a kolo error can have you a goal down. To be fair to
Kolo it didn't happen; but it nearly did.

Think we'll see the return of Lescott at Sunderland i'd be amazed if its anything other than playing Toure out before African Nations cup i know he ain't rested Kompany much this season team captain might have something to do with it. Pretty sure we'll see a lot of Lescott in Jan/Feb.
