I've been a City fan for ten years, since I was seven years old. It may not seem like a long time compared to a lot of other supporters but during that time I have cheered the team on in every single game in the most dedicated way that I could manage. Living in a small town in Ireland that hasn't always been easy. Everywhere I turn, there are United fans that taunt me for being a City fan (to which I just reply 'Fuck you.' ). Many of these people wouldn't be able to name a single United player apart from Rooney and would probably even say that Ronaldo still played for them.
Just today, I went onto one of my friends facebook pages and she had answered the question of 'Who do you support?' with Manchester United. She's never mentioned that she's a United fan to me before so I decided to ask her who they were playing tomorrow to which she said 'I thought teams only played every month or that, how would I know?'
You would have to search far and wide to find a City fan who wasn't completely dedicated to the club and didn't know every single player who played for us, including reserves. Sometimes I get tired of being a City fan, especially after derbys when all I get is shit off the 'United fans'. Then I remember that we are the ones who are going through a revolution, we are the ones who in years to come will be the top English club. Please lads, start this revolution tomorrow. The City fans who are singing at the top of their voices in the ground, watching the game on the television and those unlucky enough not to be able to watch the game at all will be forever grateful to you if you win this game. You have no idea how much this game means to us but all I ask is that you play with pride, effort and determination.
Have pride in battle. And beat the shit out of those cockney cunts!
