Nope, some chat, some banter, some taking the mick, and reminding me my eldest son and daughters are from the darkside. I've said it before, they were all someone's sons or brothers. Any disaster like this is sad. But I'm 46, maybe times are changing on social responsibility.

You POOR man....What went wrong!!!!!!!

Because their mum advised them not to go through the same 35 years of pain that I have. ha ha.

Actually my lovely Wife and her family are united supporters from Salford, I'm from Burnage, we moved to Bolton to find neutral ground ;-) Then found it was full of reds as well !!!

Re: A Mu**ch song for everyone

It's ok too have a rivalry with the scum...but there is seriously no need in resorting to chants about a plane crash that happened 50 years ago. Remember, frank swift, a blue legend was on that plane...he will never be forgotten, R.I.P.

I look forward to the day when segragation at the Derby will be a thing of the past, we will all stand shoulder to shoulder with our brother's from across town and win or lose we will all sing songs together and after the game share a few beer's and jokes and congratulate each other on being wonderful human beings before raising a glass to toast the days victor's.

These threads need to be locked!

Not having a go at Danburger but to say that our rivalry is a friendly one is just a fucking joke.

Anyone of a certain age will testify to that.

btw, this is not a justification of M***** chants/songs im just becoming very uncomfortable with what seems to be becoming a love in with the rag fuckers.

Sorry if that offends some of you.

I wouldnt mind if you were having a go at my comments, everyones entitled to their opinion!

But im not for one minute saying that the City and United team/club/fans anything involved are footballing brothers and we should be holding hands and singing songs together after games because they wouldnt be our rivals if this was the case! Im just saying that compared to the other rivalries around Europe (Rangers-Celtic, Sevilla-Real Betis, Galatasaray-Fenerbahce, Barcelona-Real Madrid) our rivalry with United is a friendly, local rivalry! They are not a different religion, class, race, political standing etc than us; there isnt gonna be a war where people will die and there will be a change in the face of lives, cities, coutries, history, human existance etc because of our rivalry with them!

The only difference is that they wear red and think they're the best and we are losers, and we wear blue and think we are loyal and they are arrogant - and that is pretty much it! We dont like them, of course not, i actually dispise many many things about that club and some of their past players and a hell of a lot of their fans - but thats what all friendly local rivalries are like! Up and down every country around Europe there are thousands of these frieldnly, local rivalries where there is nothing more than the bragging rights and hate for certain minor differences that seperate and make football interesting!

And all im saying mate is that i completely disagree with you when you insist that the rivalry with the Rags is a friendly one.

It might be in your house, but in the real world it is not.

It appears that some on here are dreaming of a perfect world, a utopia were everything is all rosy in the garden?!

My point and for what its worth i dont agree with the singing of this song, is that we as a society have much bigger problems facing us apart from a few people attached to every club who wish to sing distasteful songs.

Millions out of work...
Pensioners dieing every winter because they cant afford to put the heating on....
Peodo's on the street because our prisons are full...
Criminals let off because of yogurt knitting lefties who think that putting an arm round them will make them better people...
Our soldiers fighting and dieing daily...
Keeping hold of a job, paying the bills and feeding the kids...

I could go on forever!

Im sorry but a few songs at a game, not just sung by city fans is the fucking last of my worries!

Re: A Mu**ch song for everyone

It seems you are deliberately ignoring his explanation.

He has explained why there is not the extreme aspects of social division involved in City/United that are in some other rivalries around the world and given examples.

Yet you just keep choosing to bang on about his use of the word 'friendly' which, as he is using it in relative terms, is actually quite fair.

I don't know what sort of world you live in but I guarantee that a huge percentage of blues on here will be related to or have loads of mates who are rags.

You seem to be suggesting that there is some sort of huge, all encompasing violent undercurrent that divides Manchester and seperates people.

It just isn't the case, no matter how much some people like to think that their experience of some run ins with some wanker, wannabe hooligan rags at one time or another means there is.

Fair enough!

RIVAL (noun) 1. a person or thing competing with another for the same thing. 2. a person or thing equal to another in quality. (verb) be comparable to. (rivals, rivalling, rivalled; rivalry (plural rivalries))

Its as though you're not seeing the word rivalry in what im saying! just to point out that there is nothing friendly towards United in my house because as i say i actually dispise many many things about that club and some of their past players and a hell of a lot of their fans, when i have kids they will certainly not be brought up as reds, they WILL be blues! i mentioned i have a split in my family between blue/red but i am closer to all the blues in my family, and about 95% of all my friends are City fans! all because of our rivalry with United! If some Rag c?nt is being so arrogant and out of order, like so many of them often are, im the first trying to give him a dig in the swede and tell him what i think of him! But the fact that we can walk down the road in the same neighbourhoods, live next door to, drink in the same pub as, work with etc etc as each other, that is where it is a friendly rivalry! because if it wasnt, they'd have their part of Manchester and we'd have ours! Ive been in pubs in Salford with a City top on as my girlfriends from there and although ive had a few dodgy looks and a few harsh comments, ive not been kicked out and banished! and ive seen United fans in City pubs on match days, derby days, and nothing has happened! so it IS a friendly rivalry!

Spot on. I know loads of blues, some I would class as really close friends, at the end of the day they are exactly like me but support a team in blue and not red.
