A Muslim's Response...

Didn't say I had 50 Muslim friends. Admitting that Islam is not a religion of peace, which, yes, some of my workmates do, is not insulting Islam. If you can't make such a simple distinction you should probably be quiet.

These people don't exist. You're making them up so can we just stop with the bullshit that any religious person, let alone a group of them would call their religion anything but peaceful?

Saying 'you're a bigot because you fit a dictionary definition' is great ...except you didn't bother to show how I fit the definition. Good job!

Why would I need to? Do you think people don't know what a bigot is? You really are a bit slow aren't you?

The structure, or lack thereof, of Islam has no bearing on whether moderate Muslims choose to or succeed in quelling radical Muslims from within. "Policing" is as good a term as any for that process.

A minute ago you implied moderate Muslims don't really exist and those that do are lying to you about their religion. Now you want "moderate Muslims" to somehow "police extremism". Do you police extremism in atheism?

You're an idiot.

I hope you do think that as anything other than the idea from you would disgust me.

Your reds under the bed paranoia and total lack of understanding of what Islam is hilarious. You're on the wrong side of history and you're so stupid that you cannot see it. People like you should be put in museums so others can witness their insanity in the flesh.

I have never seen more stupidity than the concept of Atheism. The atheists think they are smart and know the truth more than others, while actually they know nothing at all, they are totally empty, clueless, pretend that they believe in science when the truth is every thing in science proves one fact that atheism is the best definition for stupidity

We just dont believe in a higher being as there is zero proof. Just common sense really, we'll believe in a God when the evidence is there.

yet you believe you have a soul.

and the evidence is...........?

I shouldn't be surprise since you also believe you have common sense, yet all evidence are pointing against it

I don't believe that souls exist.

I also don't believe in the Easter Bunny, Thor, Zeus, fairies, pixies, leprechauns, Bigfoot, intergalactic space aliens, ghosts, the Loch Ness monster, naturally occurring purple people, upside down tsunamis, flying elephants; I don't believe that frogs can speak German or that seven is greater than fourteen, nor that the ether exists or that Portuguese people all have one eye. In fact if I had to go through the list of everything that I didn't believe then I'd need to go and grab a few packs of coffee

God is on the same list as that. I don't believe because there's no evidence to support it. If evidence into the "God hypothesis" became a seriously competing theory then I'd give it much more thought. When it became overwhelming I'd convert.

The difference here is that some people take a stance that they shouldn't believe anything without evidence and others believe that they should believe things despite evidence. When Mark says that he has common sense it means that he is generally in the former camp.

Pop on over to the Royal Mail in Stockport, you'll see plenty of Asians walking in an out, most of whom are Muslim, you might even see me if you're lucky. Come on over and show us your crystal ball.
Anyway, the notion that no religious person would ever say that their religion isn't pure peace is patently false. That takes some serious ignorance. A glance at history, a slight familiarity with "Westboro Baptist Church" should dispel that notion pretty sharpish. Plenty of Muslims out there admit that there are some very problematic doctrines within Islam, in the same way that there are problematic doctrines within the Bible, which require a similar level and of reformation.

Why would you need to? Isn't 'for you own integrity' enough? It's just completely childish to call someone a name and then, when called upon for some form of reasoning, say 'you fit the definition!'

Yea, I "implied that moderate Muslims don't really exist" when I said "moderate Muslims" That makes sense. No, what i said was that too often moderate Muslims are dishonest about some of the doctrines within Islam - much in the same way many Christians are dishonest about doctrines found within the Bible. Nothing I said implied the non existence of moderates.

If extremism within atheism meant Dawkins, Krauss et al were strapping bombs to themselves, or calling for an atheist version of Sharia, then, yes, I probably would. Would you?
