A new fan..

I once shared a dorm with an american NFL-fan, first year he was all Pittsburgh, next year he was Green Bay..When I asked him about it he said that he actually don´t support any team as much as the league itself and it was a rather common view unless you actually lived in a clubs hometown.

Live and let live..

Vinjay will be back to supporting Rovers again after today's result, he has a morbid obsession with hating United and that's why he's started following City.

Anyone who ditches their club when results don't go their way deserve to be as far away from said club as possible so good riddance.

I might also mention he's a grade A lunatic who has been banned from every BRFC messageboard.

Oh that's all we need, another one who is barking. Last time I looked we had more than enough of our own. Oh and by the way, great result today.

Always good to see United lose but it does not change my feelings on Rovers fans at all.

The main reason I was banned from BRFCS (the biggest rovers forum) was for criticism of the previous owners which they deserved (you didn't ignore Lee's faults despite the errors Swales made so venkys actions do not excuse anything the walkers did) and all I got was abuse and contempt. Is it any wonder I became bitter towards them for that and various other things? Haven't seen anyone banned for criticising kean and venkys yet. Its one rule for some.

Ironic that they are now realising I was right about the Walkers even if they won't admit it. More and more criticism (including Tony Parkes in the local paper) is being aimed in their direction. Calling the Walkers scum (aside from Jack Walker) wouldn't be going overboard.

Rovers fans are just as ignorant as the owners and manager they detest. The rovers fan who posted above is a typical example. They call themselves a family club (another lie) but they are vicious backstabbers who enjoy jumping all over Jack Walker's statue because that's the type of disrespectful cretins they are. You would be lynched for doing something like that at City.

Are people planning to start threads on every fan who switches to City or is it just me who gets that type of treatment? Rovers fans are the reason I left them. End of. It should be them questioning what they did to force somebody out after so many years. If people are so intent on believing it was purely due to bad results then ask yourselves this. Why did I stay last time they got relegated? You have enough questions and comments aimed at me how about answering that? If you really think it was due to bad results you couldn't be more wrong. You always go on about City being relegated to league 1 (division 2 as it was then) but Rovers went from title challengers in my first season 97-98 to midtable division 1. Why didn't I walk out then?

Anyway not going into it any further (could write a book on Rovers fans faults) because I'll end up being called a wum even though I never asked anyone to start this thread. Go ahead and question my reasons for coming to City (that's fairly relevant to this forum) but don't question me for leaving Rovers. Others will have far less reason to leave their previous clubs and come to City than I did.

Now hopefully City take advantage of yesterday's unexpected result. That's the only thing I care about today.

If every City fan in the world hated me(and they might), or did something to piss me off I would still stick by my team.

support your own team glory hunter, you should be supporting blackburn, what you gonna do if we turn rubbish and blackburn go good r u gonna support them?
I dont care if you dont llike the owners, fans or players you stick by your club no matter what
it's fans like you who are making clubs like blackburn have such low crowds, no loyalty and no care, hope i never see you at city

happy new year everyone ;)

what position -you stated that you dont like the owners or the fans, or how the club is run, so what it doesnt mean you should just stop supporting them, I didnt like it when we had swales ( forgot you dont know he is probably) or pearce we played awful football, some of the worst I have ever seen, did I stop going no I stayed and went week in week out, because it's my team who I am passionate about, seriously though my dad would have killed me for changing teams. how can you just chnage teams like that, if you care so much about blackburn which it sounds like you do, support them

welcome to city my freind if thats your desision but rovers are your team, today walk tall with your head high and wear your rovers shirt with pride, blackburn wont go down i asure you. well done today blackburn you ground out a teriffic victory

"Common view?" I am an American NFL fan of the New England Patriots since 1974. Our team went pretty much through the same shit City went through for so long. We were the laughing stock of the NFL but like others have said, once you're a fan you're a fan for life. I live nowhere near where the Patriots play and for many years (10) lived away from the region completely. Still I remained a fan. Look at us now.

I've been a City fan since early 1999 when I was living in Manchester and they were in Division 2 (Long story.) Now I have to pinch myself when I see the same transformation that happened to my Patriots also happening to my Blues.

This roommate of yours sounds like he wasn't a true NFL fan at all. There is absolutely no point and as for it being a common view, this is the first I've heard of it.
