A new way of playing....

I like the fact Pep “tweaks/adapts his system”, in fact I think it’s vital, I often wonder whether the inability to do that was Bielsa’s downfall, and Pep has learnt from that (amongst other things) ?

I think City play slightly different, score more from free kicks ,corners,
every team plays 11 back in defence, so we have to adapt

A ludicrously new way of playing:
Eddie
Kyle Dias Stones Cancelo
KdB Rodri Philips Foden
Haaland Alvarez.
Yep, 4-4-2.
Tee hee.

My one concern is now that we have lost Jesus and to a lesser extent Sterling I feel our press from the front may not be as effective . Say we have a top three of Grealish/Haaland/mahrez. For me that’s not a great trio for the press that is so important to our game.
However I’m sure pep will sort this out and it will all be ok but it is the one area I think we may lose out on with those two leaving.
But the other front three are, ( here at the moment ) Foden, Alverez and Bernardo so flipping back to the high press is an option.

Pep has changed things every season, the main philosophy always stays the same but he makes tweaks to it. The same will happen this season but it won't be much different to last season, where Jesus and Sterling were in and out of the team for various reasons anyway. Think people are panicking for no reason tbfh.
